I only have that problem when I have a small page limit. The time limit's 8 minutes. Right now, I'm at 9:48. If the time limit were 10, I would be able to hit it every time, because that's about how long I write.

That's a terrible idea. For one, to cut a minute and a half off my speech, I would have to be talking about one and a half times as fast. For two, talking fast in speech is a surefire way to get last. 90% of the time, the super-speed speaker gets last.
