Indeed. It's rather interesting to think of all the things that at any particular moment could align with fate to kill us. Crossing the street, walking under a tree branch, a bolt under too much pressure, some idiot playing with their gun, etc.

Speaking of weird allergic reactions, when we got OC sprayed, one girl was allergic to it, she dropped and started doing the funky chicken. I was mildly scared for her. It occurred to me that I was about to watch someone die before I even got out of training. She didn't though.

My friend's neighbor wasn't accepted into the air force because he's severely allergic to peanuts. I guess really recently he had a reaction at school from a cookie brought in by a student. You'd think someone who knows how allergic he is would remember to ask if there's possibly peanuts or traces in the cookies.

I honestly think the MLP love started as a joke that has gone entirely too far.

It had a fairly large fanbase, they just weren't as... Extreme(?) As the bronies are/were. Probably because they were teenagers/young adult males liking a show targeted at them instead of one targeted at young girls.

 

That or bronies got more attention as a result of that. As far as I know, liking Avatar wasn't something that people would randomly attack you for.
