Championfurydelta123
If I were to aim for 99 smithing... Are mithril plates a good way to get it? And how much would it cost from my level to 99 with them? By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest. - Confucius
Chaosxreigns
For 68 to be able to make Mithril Platebodies, it would require 8820 steel bars (more if you're making cannonballs). This would cost 5,486,040 coins, not including how much you make back from selling/alching. This is buying at market price. 68-99 doing Mithril Platebodies would require 248,588 mithril bars, which is 49,717.6 Mithril Platebodies. This would cost you 283,887,496 (283.88m). If you alched the platebodies, you would recieve ~144M profit after buying the nature runes, and 3.23M magic experience. TL;DR, you'd lose about 140M making mithril platebodies, buying everything at mid price. This is not including that you might use Sacred Clay hammers, which would lessen the cost by a bit, but also take more effort to aquire.

Chaosxreigns
You know, if you think about it, chances are you've probably made ~100M in the general lifespan of your account. It's not really that much if you think about it, but it's a LOT to have in cash at one time. : Don't be intimidated by large numbers. If you really want it, then go for it. Like I am right now. I want 99 smithing, since it's one of my favourite skills. I *know* I don't have the cash for it, but I'm going for it anyway, since I know I can make the money over time. danetello
Addy plates are much better for training. Faster exp and you lose less, only 5gp per exp .
Zaaps1
It should cost something like 35-40m if you use SC hammers. You can cut prices down even more if you make addy bolts. ~It's Super Effective! meb
I believe adamant plates is even cheaper than adamant bolts. You're looking at around 40 million and a lot SC games if you want to get the Smithing cape. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Doomdevil321
if you can do avanisies then you are set once you can get to 70 smithing. SInce they drop NOTED addy bars and i hear it is easy to get alot of addy bars per trip. (This is my goal) since smithing is so expensive.
