GonAndGary
Right, i dont have photoshop, and im wondering - can i do this in paint? Heres my problem: I want to make pictures without any background, like the tool you use for making buddys where you select it so theres no background around the piece you move, how can i make it so theres no background around the picture whatsoever, like pictures out of clip-art. All help would be appreciated. Thanks. Skully. Thanks To: Everyone for the siggies, especially Kal for the Pixel.Currently Playing: FIFA 07, NFS: Carbon, Morrowind and Dungeon Siege II. runescape_rocks
Microsoft has this programj called "Acrylic" which is suppose to be like Photoshop. I'm not sure if it has transparency though.

12qu
Not sure if this is what you want, but i'll have a go anyway. Ok, step 1. Load the image you want into paint. Step 2. Click the button on the toolbar on the toolbox (left side of the screen) which is at the top of the second collumn of tools (it should be a box surrounded by a dashed line) Step 3. Underneath all the buttons in the toolbox two boxes will appear that look like this: Click on the bottom one Step 3. Click the bottom of these two boxes Step 4. Drag a box using the cursor around your image Step 5. You can now drag, cut and paste, copy and paste or do whatever you want with the selected image. So long as the white parts on it haven't been painted on there by you, it shouldn't have a background when you put it where you want it to go Phew! I hope that helped. Feel free to ask me any other questions if you are still unsure what to do.

For example, the last time you asked you got it within 10 minutes

Where does he say anything about transperencey there? I think what he's saying is that he doesn't want white in the area where there is no picture, but just so that he can put it on and it will be overlaid straight onto another image. But i suppose we'll see when he replies.

12qu
He means where the characters heads are. How you can see the background. The background being the forum itself. My method does that. I am sure. As you can see in this pic, the top one has a green cube with a solid white box inside a dashed square. The bottom one has no such solid white. So when you select it with the bottom one, it has no background.
