leapinlizrd
I'm new to temple trekking, but i was killing juv vamps and wanted to see what this guthix balance potion did. (couldn't find a list of rewards or much information) I got about 4-5 on the encounter and killed 1-2 before i could time it to use the potion (hitting too hard). First two vamps turned human and gave me some lame rewards (noted iron skirt, something mithril). Third vamp i use the potion on turned into a mutated or mutant vampire. Looked like a regular vampire on steroids and it's muscles were probably 2x the size of my guy and a little taller. If I knew how to do screen shots, I would have gotten one. But anyways, all the text i read said was that they turned human or into regular vampires. Anyone else seen these? I'll be doing more trekking. Trying to get lumberjack stuff. Also, would like to know where to do submissions here incase i run into one again. (drop was just vampire dust)
Saradomin_Mage
Vampyre Juvinates As you have learnt in In Aid of the Myreque, you need a silver weapon to fight vampyres. To kill or even hit vampyres, you should use the Rod of Ivandis. Attack with this, or a sickle until the vampyre is at half health. When you are at this stage, use the staff's special attack to hold the vampyre. While the vampyre is paralysed, quickly use some Guthix Balance on him. Doing so will either kill him, cure him or make him angry and stronger! Those are your outcomes of using the potion. It's happened to me also, which is frustrating, to say the least. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
SupportMage
Here's a tip: the full Vampires aren't immune to conventional weapons. It's frustrating to have happen, but if it does just lay waste to him with something big and pointy, and preferably dark red. Still alive, still alive. Rien
Guthix Balance potions, when used on bound Juvinates, can either kill them outright, cause them to revert into humans, or "anger" them and make them transform into feral Vampires (this has the effect of increasing their combat levels by 10, but, at the same time, causes for them to lose their immunity to normal weapons). As SupportMage said, you can make quick work of them should you encounter them again. http://tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2monster_id=659 ^^I believe this is the Vampire in question. That one is from the Burgh de Rott forest Juvinates. The ones you get in Temple Trekking are "Angry vampyre", level 70, 100 and 130. Never trust anyone. Jammy2222
Oh stop complaining. Its always worth using the potion. It either: Gets cured (good) Dies (good) Gets fully healed, but loses immunity to non silver weapons (meh).
Will H
That's the third outcome from giving the potion, but luckily they're far easier to deal with than the original juvinate because they lose their non-silver immunity. Obviously killing them outright or curing them are the better outcomes, but you know how Guthix is. Just think of them as an NPC in normal conditions, and suddenly they're not as troublesome as they would originally have you believe. It's still worth using the whole flail/rod special balance force-feeding ritual thingy instead of making them flee. ~ W ~
Saradomin_Mage
But if they do turn to the Angry Vampire, you're getting nothing as a drop from them. It is worse in this one case. In real life MMO you don't get 99 smithing by making endless bronze daggers.
Jard_Y_Dooku
You get Vampire dust. That's SOMETHING. :) Never trust anyone. You are always alone, and betrayal is inevitable.Nothing is safe from the jaws of the decompiler.
leapinlizrd
Yeah, vamp dust is something... Something to be left on the ground  But thanks for the info. Main reason for asking was it wasn't listed in the monster database. I hope someone will submit what they know about them for an update to it.
