the "fad" as you call it can be made into so many different things, that's why it's so long lasting i think. smilie sigs are just that. smilies. but pixel sigs can be amde into most anything.

I don't really think it's a fad, more of a style now. I perfer pixle sigs much more, they're so much more creative and require skill. And if you think about it, any1 can do it cause ms paint can creat a just as good pixle sig as photoshop. Even I agree... Pixel art is something I've enjoyed doing for a long time now, and ever since this fad... it's just.. lackluster.. :? . Although I'm ready for the fad to end, I don't want it to go back to abstract-BG-with-fancy-text-and -flashing-animations again ( Go Jep!).. People need to be a little mor creative instead of hopping on every bandwagon that comes around. :wink: And.. yes.. I think it was me with my pixel gods sig, and Lan's personal landscapes that brought the fad upon us. :lol:

i think pixel sigs are awesome the problem is most people don't have the skill for making one themselves (including myself), maybe thats the reason while people don't like them... because it's too hard to make one themselves. however, most people who do the pixel sigs around here have real talent (Zim, Demented, Jeppoz, Link) and many others i've seen.

I really dislike most of them, but Jeppoz and Zimlem make the only ones that look decent. Most of the others look like crap to me.
