Pures Doing Desert Treasure?

Recommended Posts

I'm just curious on the procedure that range/mage pures take in order to start Desert Treasure for the minigame reward. I've seen many pures with Ghostly on, so I know it isn't unheard of.

I currently have all skill requirements & 2/6 Quests complete (Dig Site & Priest In Peril). I'm assuming it's an issue with the quests but surely they don't ALL have to be complete (Waterfall gives combat experience reward, which would botch-up a pure).

Anyways, if someone has an idea of how this will work, please let me know. Thanks!

kk for all i know...pures can do it....but its hard when it comes to defeating the mobs during the quest...all u need for this is one buddy...this is because u got low defence and u dont wanna die from lvl 150 mobs...get some1 who completed the quest...den when the time comes get ur buddy to stand between u and the mob...this way u can either range it or mage it...this procedure worked for my buddy who is range/mage pure...the rest of the quest is easy....hopefully this helped u a bit...GL

I think you guys misunderstood me. I'm not talking about COMPLETING Desert Treasure, just getting far enough into it to start the Ghostly Robes mini-game.

I naturally assumed I could start it once I met all the skill requirements but the Archeologist still won't speak with me. So that left me to believe that I need to complete some of the quest requirements, if not all of them. I've completed Dig Site & Priest In Peril, as well as gotten half-way through Tourist Trap. Now, with that being said, I find this a bit confusing as Waterfall Quest gives Attack & Strength experience as a reward, which would botch-up a mage/range pure.

I know some quests can be started without having ALL the prerequisites completed, so I was optimistic that this was one of those quests. So how do I begin this quest? Or do I have to complete all quest prerequisites beforehand? That would mean all mage/range pures that wear Ghostly have indeed botched-up their skills, which would explain alot...

-.- if u had any common sense...y does it matter if i used deff instead of att/str....u dumb...either wat ur ruining the pure

You are the most [developmentally delayed]ed person I have ever known.

I'll explain how you level combat for you: You gain a level by either gaining 2 attack or strength levels, either 2 hitpoints or defense levels, 4 ranged levels, 4 magic levels, 8 prayer levels, or 8 summoning levels. Your combat can be based on melee, magic, or ranged. This means that, unless you severely level any of the other stats, you will only gain levels by leveling whatever skill you are based on. If he's magic based then he can get X amount of attack, strength, or ranged levels before he levels, but only 4 magic levels until he gains a combat level.

I see what you guys are saying.

It doesn't ruin the pure but it does ruin the stat-based portion of it. Instead of all combat skills being 1, they'll be brought up several levels. Using the calculator, no, it won't gain me any combat levels. In fact, I'd have to gain 145 Strength/Attack levels to gain a single combat level, so it wouldn't effect me even a factor of a bit. Still, the sacrifice of my 1's is a bit much.

All I was trying to accomplish here was determining HOW to start the quest. If Desert Treasure requires all prerequisites to be completed beforehand (unlike some quests), then that's what I needed to know.

XP given from waterfall: 13,750 attack and 13750 strength

XP from level 60 to 61: 25,856

Assuming your 60 attack, waterfall won't give you any extra attack levels. You even have 12,106 more xp after you complete waterfall until lvl 61, which gives you room if you trained attack a bit by accident.

As far as strength, you should always have your strength maxed and if it levels you, then just go max it for your combat level (just use tipit's calc).

Shouldn't be that hard to figure out if it will mess up your stats or not, and if you want ghostly robes on your pure you might as well just do desert treasure, it really is nice to have on a pure.
