Why Wind bolts?

It just puzzles me why trickers use Wind Bolt. Why not strike spells? Why not bronze arrows? Why not bronze bolts? Bone bolts? Bronze daggers?

 

 

 

Out of everything, why choose wind bolt, which can cost a noticeable amount?

Strike doesn't give ep from what i have heard, bolt is the next lowest. And me and inu tried using bronze bolts and the constant zeros allowed us to be attacked.

I'm not sure, but here's my guess: Mage xp. better xp than strikes. mage over range/melee because when wearing rune there is a very small amount of dealing damage. Still, don't know why they don't use strikes.

I thought this too :D And now I do bronze arrows/bolts. Now this cost literally 0gp per hour but there is still 1 difference :) Even if you are decreasing your range/mage/atk bonus so low you will still hit unlike the wind bolt :P Therefore, if you eat then someone can pj :)

Oh i forgot to add... just like flowering air strike no longer gives ep :(

Pretty much, if you have hp bars above your head and the fight last over a certain amnt of time (not sure how long), other people can come in and pj, which rules out any bolts, rubbish weps etc. (i personally used to 26k with bronze bolts and tank gear before the whole ep thing). And jagex also made it so flowers, chickens, any fun wep really, and all strikes, while using them you won't gain ep.

Kinda confused still, if you hit constant 0s you are able to get pj'd, but if you eat you're also able to get pj'd. Does wind bolting solve this at all then?

jagex posted that prolonged, stagnant combat could be interrupted by other players. i.e. if i was to attack myfriend for two hours, dealing no damage, you could attack me, even though i am in a single combat zone and engaged with another player. idk how wind bolt solves this.

Low leveld range ammo you can get pj'd, the system apparently works (or is a bug which i heard somewhere) that if you have a hp bar above your head it registers you as in combat, so you can get pj'd after x time doing it.

 

 

 

But when you air bolt (or any higher spell) and splash constantl, the hp bar isn't there because your splashing, while the game registers you as in combat, so people cannot pj you initially, because there is no hp bar, the system that is supposed to prevent 26king doesen't kick in, so you can never get pj'd.

But couldn't you then shoot bronze arrows for 5 minutes, then leave for a minute or so, then continue?

Not too sure wether its a bug or not, all that i heard is that only in PVP worlds you can't be attacked, but doing it on Bh worlds you can, so not too sure on that one.

 

 

 

Yes you could, but im not sure what the time limit is, and you would have to be careful not to get pk'd in that time :
