July 12, 200916 yr I did the math, and found out that 3 - 25 herblore for heros' will cost over 200k with ATK potions. Is there any cheaper way that won't take forever? Hexiled Razz. Player since March 8th, 2005.
July 12, 200916 yr Yes - collect the herbs yourself. This is a lot easier than it sounds - players killing chaos druids will leave behind herbs guam-harralander. You can kill them yourself in addition to picking up the herbs left on the ground by other players. It's certainly not the fastest method, but even if you stuck with attack potions the whole way, you could collect the herbs you need in a couple of hours. Also, you can buy the eye of newt from the rune shop in Port Sarim, and your vials in Ardougne. This way, you will only spend 13 coins per potion, and 4k or so getting to level 25. And if you can sell them, you'll make a tidy profit. Check out this cool browser gladiator game!
July 12, 200916 yr Since guams are higher priced, your best bet would be to do quests that give herblore exp. Once you hit 15 you can make Serum 207, which is a decent way to train. July 12, 200916 yr I would also suggest just killing chaos druids and collecting the herbs yourself. It shouldn't take you long at all. Stick to one or two potions... Collect the herbs; sell the ones off that you can't use (e.g. ranarrs are 10k each). Use the money collected off that and buy more herbs that you can make potions with. Make sure you are making potions with cheap or easy-to-access secondary ingredients. So, it would probably be a good idea to stay away from potions like strength - limpwurts are 1k each. Quests are also a very good idea. Edit: best place to kill druids - Blood Rune Tower North of Ardougne (thieving lvl required: 46 [to pick lock door]) and Taverly Dungeon. July 12, 200916 yr Buy grimy herbs in the GE, clean them for XP and then sell them back to some sucker who wants to make unsalable potions. Use the Herblore Calculator to figure out how many you need. If you go guam all the way, you will have to clean approx. 3100 guams to get to level 25. You can do that in an hour or so. Of course, you can move up in herbs as you level up and do a lot fewer than 3100. July 12, 200916 yr If I am not wrong guam is used as summoning second, so that could probably be the reason for the price.
