The_Mather1
I have already posted this quest on the Official RuneScape forum under Suggestion-Quests. Thread name: Myreque storyline part: V QFC: 80-81-843-59186671 Quest name: Drakan's plot. Requirements: -Quests: Legacy of Seergaze, A tail of two cats, Garden of tranquility. -Skills: Thieving: 45, Agility: 40, -Items: Flail of ivandis(or Ring of Charos(a)), 6 logs, 10 silk, purple red or green dye Intro: Meiyerdich has become quiet, more quiet than usual, the only sounds are the children crying and the occational bark from one of the stray dogs. While at castle Drakan things are stiring up, screems are heard coming from the lower floors, the waste water pouring into the myre has turned red and is slowly coloring the swamp sickly purple. On top of this vampyres seem intimidated, even the vyrewatch seem terrified, but why? Start: Speek to Salafaan The quest: When you speak to Salafaan he says the vyrewatch have stopped claiming tithes and seem distant and lost in thought. He also give you your next order; to find out why. You then have to go speak to one of the vyrewatch, but when you ask it why it will say; "None of your buissness, now get lost foodsack!". You then get the options to threaten it, charm it(if you are wearing the Ring of Charos) or leave it. If you choose to threaten it it will attack, when it is down to 1/4 of its health(or arfter you charm it) it will tell you lord Drakan is cooperating with the dragonkin to make an dragon-vyrewatch hybrid; the dragonvyre. The dragonvyre has the strenght and breath of a dragon and the intelligence, cunningness and mobility of an vyrewatch (it looks kind of like both the dragonkin and the vyrewatch). When you report back to Salafaan he will tell you your next mission will be to gather more information about this new threat. But to make this possible you would have to enter castle Drakan and therefore you would need a disquise. This disquise would be consisting of: One full set of vyrewatch clothing and some sort of mechanical wings, theese wings would be made of one clockwork, 6 logs, 10 pieces of silk and one red green or purple dye. To make the wings use the logs on the clockwork to make wing frames, then use the silk on the frames while having a needle and some thread in your backpack to make some blank wings, dye theese to make vyre watch wings(red/green/purple). (if you try any other color it'l say "That would just look stupid.") When you tell Salafaan you have finished the diquise he'l tell you to go back to the walls yo mapped during Darkness of Hallowvale and enter the castle. To do this you have to find a balcony about the same height as the ground, right click it and choose fly to, you will then se a cutscene of you flying over to the balcony. But the balcony door is locked so you will have to pick it. You will then enter the room, the entire floor is empty except from some vyres in the towers(not reachable from anything but 1st floor). You wil then have to climb down some stairs located near the western wall, here you wil notice that the wall near the stairs at one side is i little different from the rest, push it to unveil a secret stairwell. In the basement you will be in a small room containing only the stairs, a door and one small air vent. When you try to open the door it will say it's locked and you hear some "people" discussing. Remove your wings and enter the vent. Then you will start a new cutscene. The cutscene starts by shoving you appear in another vent, slowly backing out to show Lord Drakan and his children dicussing with three dragonkin. Lord Drakan: When will you have my army ready? Dragonkin: It is uncertain, as we have had a few setbacks. Lord Drakan: *Angry* Setbacks? Dragonkin: I'm sorry, but yes. It seems that your vampyres wasn't so cooperative. Lord Drakan: What do you mean? Dragonkin: Your vampyres wasn't to eager to share their genes. Although we were able to get some after a little "convinsing". Vanescuela: So that's why the waste water had this wierd color. Dragonkin: Yes, but now we have starting to get some results on our "research". *Camera follows one of the dragonkin as he opens a window shielding, uncovering houndreds of dragonvyres* Dragonkin: And there is still more maturing as we speak. You: Better get out before i get caught. The game fades in at the start of Meiyerdich where you say: Better report back to Salafaan. When you report back he'l tell you you've done you mission well. -Quest complete- Rewards: Tome of knowledge(4)(3): 3000exp for any 3 skills over 40. 2500 thieving and agility exp. 2000 slayer exp. Karvinen
You should also add other creatures to it, like elves (W), Arposandran gnomes(W), penguins(N) and Ape Atoll(S) monkeys. It makes sense, as the right half of the dragonkin symbol is compass star and those creatures are from west, north and south (vampyres are from east). Seraphi
Ehhh....I just think its a bit of a random link to make. The first part sounds really good, with the swamp being flooded with blood, but I think it should be altered so that the Vyres are trying to create vampyres from humans, since that is basically what Legacy of Seergaze suggested with the heamalchemy book and the experiment cages and restraining tables. Essentially, I just think that the Dragonkin should be replaced with humans, and the meeting should only have the three vampyre lords in it. The blood should just be from experiments conducted to find a way of turning humans into vyres. Also, I love the idea of clockwork wings, would they be usable anywhere? The reasons i said that they were to be cooperating with the dragonkin was because somewhere in "While Guthix Sleeps" you see a cutscene of several Dragonkin discusing in a place quite similiar to castle Drakan. The book of haemalchy and the plot you mentioned were during the "Darkness of Hallowale" while during "Legacy of Seergaze" you found the blood altar they both were due to the Vampyres trying to make humans that produced more blood. The wings could be used in agillity to reduce weight and raise chance of succsesfully crossing ditches and such. You should also add other creatures to it, like elves (W), Arposandran gnomes(W), penguins(N) and Ape Atoll(S) monkeys. It makes sense, as the right half of the dragonkin symbol is compass star and those creatures are from west, north and south (vampyres are from east). Adding those would make it a little to mouch as the penguins are known to be an ally of the red axe therefore also of the caos dwarves and ogre shamans, the elves are friends of yours, the gnomes are dangerous enough of their own and the monkeys of ape atoll are kind of neutral only wanting to protect their kind. But there have been barely any hints that the dragonkin are linked to the vyrewatch, either. Just because the castle is similiar, doesn't mean they are allies. Is it not stated that the dragonkin distanced themselves from all other races out of fear of death? So why would they co-operate with the vyrewatch, one of the races that would seem most likely to stab somebody in the back?

The vyrewatch is not a treachorous race as they are only doing what the Drakans tell them and are if anything very loyal as before Drakan came they were known as the Icyene, a race of winged beings loyal to Saradomin, to whom they made an agreement with in the case of Drakan taking controll of them. As well the dragonkin would be more eager to trust the full grown vampyres, souch as Drakan, due to them being quite similiar in both looks and them creating new races to protect themselves. Also some impling says that they generally don't like the mort myre mouch as it smells of DRAGON poo. Twitter: @TheMather1
nerdboyxxx
It's a nice idea, I can't say much for the actual quest LINE as I dont quest ;) you might want to corect a few spelling errors though, spelling doesn't go unnoticed. Good luck with further development :D
thesearcher
A few coments: -The quest seems a bit short. It should be beefed out, with the monsters detecting the player and trying to attack him... perhaps they drop something which can be analysed by the Myreque? Just make it longer! -The clockwork wings seem like something JaGEx would do; we've been on at them for ages to put wings into the game and, short of the prayer cape, don't actually have them. My guess is that they wouldn't be useful outside the quest - perhaps they are confiscated before the fight I suggested above? -This could lead nicely up the the last part of the Myreque series. It gives the quest to come after this a chance of being really nice and difficult. Lord Drakan would now have a very big army. Perhaps we see another fight scene between races (as in The Chosen Commander when the Goblins launch an attack on the HAM cultists) Dragon drops: Half shield(cs), med helm(cs) Chainbody (cs) (I do a lot of monster hunting with my clan!Barrows: Guthan's plateboy [1]GWD: None yet, only done a few tripsOthers: I'd love to be able to let you know.
