Well, was working on a layout for my portfolio, tried something a bit different..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I named it FenixPortfolio, because Im also part of FenixDesign, a small design company, working mainly with clients in and around our city..

Was going for a simple, light design, with some illustration..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I'm also working on a simple flash intro, pretty much same concept with those cocoon kinda thingies..

wow way way way better stuff then last time i saw you do a logo for FenixDesign.

tho i dont quite like the way you did the buttons it doesnt capture your attention either the buttons are not quite what they should be. :(

Awesome job. I remember a topic a LOOOOONG time ago of someone requesting a 'Fenix' logo of some sort. Thats great what you have. Love how it wll flows together. Reminds me of firefox a bit though :roll: I don't know if that's what you might have gotten insppiration from or not. If so, bravo. If not, well then that's what it reminds me of :P

It's looks good, but it seems that the pheonix bubble things would be better suited to being the navigation buttons rather than the nav bar on top.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also if you do decide to go with the nav bar, the way you did the typo is wierd, the keywords should be dominant. So instead of the 'me' in takemehome being bold, it should be the 'take..home' that shuld be bold. (just my imo though)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

All in all it looks great :) . So is the site going to be done in flash or html?

sorry but im not a big fan of it, i like the logo but its really repetitive, and its sort of plain.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Im a template guy myself, so im not trying to bash it or anything im just giving my honest opinion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

as for c/c i would reccomend, [wagon] more content space, a small box wont cut it, add more colors to really bring it out, and add some depth to it, it looks really flat right now.

I got some idea's from another forum, and Im taking the time to remake the layout, mainly in flash.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

As froth suggested, I will make the cocoon thingies the menu, insted of using the bar.. When you go over them with your mouse, it'll come forward, and display the text it links to..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I will also bring some more variation into the cocoon thingies.. Different stages of breeding, so to call it..

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Is gonna take a while, but its fun :)

Sounds good, different stages of cocoons, when people come to your site they can familiarize specific sections due to the stages you got. so that's an extra plus it gives more difference in visuals which could make it look better.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I do like the overall look to it, it's maybe a bit plain but does have a certain touch to it. Kind of like a touch of quality. Keep up the work im interested on how this will look when its done.

That's quite cool. Me and a friend run a site called Fenix Labs and it has all our graphics on it so it's quite weird that you also have fenix in your name.
