axemorrigan
hellhounds, steel dragons, scarabites, and Zygomites. hellhounds-to many noobs there, extremely boring. steel dragons-no comment. scarabites-annoying, powerful because of the several combat styles in one room. zygomites-extremely annoying, those zanaris events can seriously kill you in seconds if no prayer is on. TomcatLX
Looking at your personal slayer motives (No cannon + ranger safespots only), I'd say block: Definitely: Warped terrorbirds (because they just suck) Scabarites (because you refuse to use a cannon) For final two pick amongst these: Dust Devils (because your focusing on ranging) Waterfiends (because your focusing on ranging) Aberrant spectars (because your focusing on ranging and no cannon) Goraks (because your focusing on ranging and no cannon) THIS IS ASSUMING YOU ARE ONLY TALKING TO DURADEL/LAPALOK. If you talk to other slayer masters, you will get really bad tasks. ====================== I personally block: Waterfiends because reds are plentiful from other mobs. They aren't cannonable and they have no spectacular drops. Hellhounds because all they drop are gold charms. They are often too crowded for cannoning. Warped Terrorbirds because I want my crystal to be a saw, not chimes. Black demons...actually they updated these recently to have better drops. I would unblock them...but it would cost me points to block something else. My reasons to not block something are as follows: Type 1) They are cannonable for fast exp. Type 2) They have a chance to drop something rare. Type 3) They are given at such a small number that the task would net me easy slayer points. Cptbaker08
I would block the ones you don't like to do. If you find them annoying or just a pain to complete then do so. Waterfiends aren't a bad task. You might have a hard time doing them. Get straight 80s in cb skills and maybe at least 68 summoning for a Bunyip. That would make them a lot easier to do. If you like try to do those, if you find them to hard then keep them blocked until you are higher levels. Also Dust Devils are easily ranged. Just make sure you have the mask or helm on while killing them. @TomcatLX: Waterfiends might not have great drops, but if you pick them all up and alchs all the mith/addy items you can make a nice profit from them. I made at least 100k profit from my last task. But yes other monsters decent crimson charm drops. But Waterfiends have the best drop rate, under rock lobs. essiw
I don't block a thing. No matter how stressful the task can be i just tough it out. Waste of points if you block it and if your not going for lots of Slayer Points Burthrope it. I am not going for a lot of points but I still want them. So i block things. Thanks bored321 & axemorrigan & Cptbaker08 for your comments @TomcatLX I disagree with dust devils because I like to range doesn't mean I don't want to use melee at all ;) , dust devils fall in other things I like: Good average drops, fast to kill never had spectors so don't know yet Goraks are quite easy to melee and are close to bank (also good average drops [a lot of gems] and fast to kill) I agree with you reason if they have a chance to drop something rare (thats maybe one reason why I like dust devils and metal dragons more) http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum. GibberEsh
I'm not sure if you can manage with your stats but warped terrorbirds for me are a very easy and profitable task. I never use any prayer potions and I usually come out with 200-400k per task and a lot of exp. You should check out this guide on #4 but it's not necessary to pray all the time: viewtopic.php?f=103&t=744300. If you kill them here since there's only 2 bird spawns, you'll only need to pray to lure the bird close to you. [hide=][/hide] But that aside, no charms, no clues, much easier to melee, semi-annoying to click chimes over and over, can get damaged a lot in bad situations, sort of long task. Yeah, I can see why people would cancel them. For scarabs, go back to the pyramid via fairy rings where there's a lot of lv 40 scarabs. Terrible exp but it gets the job done if you don't want to cannon them. Black demons can be safespotted in the chaos tunnels, the tasks are long but I guess it's worth it. Kinda long post but as you get your combats up, tasks will be a lot easier.
essiw
thanks for your post GibberEsh. I still think I will block terrorbirds, I can do very less terrorbirds on a trip and use a lot of food and prayer pots, without the prayer pots it would be even worse at my level. Do those lvl 40 scarabs drop good stuff or could I better go for higher scarabs (you have places with them walking around in tunnels so you will get a max of 2 on you) because they have better drops? http://sign.tip.it/1/2/79/260/essiw.png Retired item crew I would like to be credited as essiw at the website update & corrections forum.
