Help me talk some sense into an idiot?

Featured Replies

My friend thinks he is better than me overall and refuses to listen. Overall i'm better than him, but he thinks combat is all that matters and quite franky at his stats he won't get anywhere. He also say "firemaking, summoning, wc, and flecthing are useless." Now i agree with firemaking, and it would help to note his summoning lvl probably dosent even top 5. He said that because i have higher levels than him in all thhose skills, the only ones he has higher than me is combats(not including mage and range) and fihsing by 2 levels. So can someone add him and try and talk some sense into him? His name's [removed], and i put him on ignore because it's not worth meying to talk to him at this point. I'm not saying yell at him and call him an idiot, just talk some sense into him about those skills and how bad he really is.

Doesn't it break forum rules?

Naming people or their characters in a negative light is not permitted. That person is not able to defend themselves or their actions and what seems like an inappropriate action, which can often be a simple misunderstanding, can lead to a negative reaction against that person.

That techniocally not breaking rules because

1:He would be able to defend himself if you messaged him

and

2:It isn;t so muhc a negative light as i just want someone to explain this to him. He won't listen to me because he just thinks i'm lying to make myself sound better than him becuase i must still be 7 to him

Because the real proof of maturity is trying to acquire help in criticizing someone over the internet.

No not to critci him to explain this to him he still plays like he did 3 years ago when we first started(we both stopped playing for a year and a half or 2.)

No point arguing it's down to opinion don't let people fight your battles for you, "I'm telling".

Well, he probably has his private chat on friends or off anyway. I tried to inform him and he appears to be offline. Either that, or he's actually offline. Though it'll probably get locked anyway.

You can't have discussion if either of you isn't willing to listen to the other. Sounds like you both can't listen to each other (or at least you're not willing to listen to him). So don't bother arguing a small point.

Just agree to disagree.

Disclaimer: I just say the following to get you thinking, not because I believe in it. Feel free to flame my ideas, just don't flame me personally.

I'll be the Devil's Advocate and say that combat is all there is because it's more fun than grinding skills, and opens up a world of boss-hunting. Combat is the best moneymaker in the game, and is the most visible sign of your experience (combat levels). Plus, you get to wear cool armor.

Everything else in the game only exists to serve combat. Mining --> smithing --> armour/weapons for combat. Woodcutting --> Fletching --> weapons for combat. Crafting --> equipment for combat. Fishing --> Cooking --> food for combat. Farming --> Herblore --> pots for combat. As you can see, combat is the be-all and end-all of Runescape

If it's not worth arguing with him then just drop it. Getting other people to try and make him see your point won't help anyways.

If it really bothers you then just don't talk to him. I'm going to lock this because I don't think this will go anywhere good.
