Set-up for slaying Spiritual Mages?

Featured Replies

So, I've recently got 83 Slayer, and am looking to go to kill some mages. What setup and inventory would I need?

:D

Mage defence armour.

Melee weapons (I think tht is msot effective based on the cmb triangle but not 100%)

God items are subject to which mages you kill

WRONG. NO. BAD PAW CLAW

(lol, not trying to sound mean)

you dont want to try to tank spiritual mages; they hit too hard and are too accurate even on high magic defence armour to be a good idea. i tested full karils, BSS and zammy stole (god item) on zammy mages w/ food and it was....well.....i only was able to kill 1, maybe 2, mages before having to eat

if you want to kill zammy mages, wear good pray+ armour, whip, and some zammy item or a zamorak god bird.

sara mages, wear a zammy and sara item, and a mix of melee/range/magic defence and prayer (incase you accidentally get attacked by something) and attack the mages that are fighting zamorak monsters. i find that bandos tassets+pros top or BCP/pros legs work well, and neitz helm (slayer helm is task, ofc.)

bring a few pure sets, a couple of prayer pots, 1 brew, 1 super rest, room for drops and a tele

I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"

walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come

This is what I used to pie mages before I got 83 slay (about 6 months ago.It should still work though).

You can change sara stole for a zammy one and use rune defender instead of the holy book.Pray mage when you enter the cave as sara mages will hit you.

Pray mage ->on the fast prayer button(right click on the prayer symbol and "Choose prayer".That way you can pray flick easier if you wish.)If not you can just carry a few prayer potions in the inventory and pray mage all the time.Remember to take super attack/strength potions.

Looks good, but since you're praying anyways, kill the ones in the Zamorak base (so you don't need a Saradomin item. Here are my recommendations for equipment changes:

[*]Switch a rune defender for the Zamorak book (you get 11 accuracy and 5 strength at the cost of 5 prayer)

[*]Wear your best RFD gloves (obviously)

[*]Wear a Neitiznot instead (you get 3 strength and the ability to wear scrolls at the cost of 1 prayer)

[*]Wear a Fury and a Zamorak Cloak instead of a Stole and a Skill Cape (you get 10 accuracy and 8 strength at the cost of 6 prayer)
