Lep
I've wondered this ever since it existed. If a Familiars special attack is Magic based, does it have a better chance of working if you have Magic items on such as Ahrims? Same goes for a Spirit Dagganoth, it's special attack is Ranged based, so should I use Ranged armor? Problem is that I notice almost NONE of the special attacks are melee based, so... Clarification please?
Dexek
I'm not sure, but it seems unlikely. I believe that's why players have "summoning defence", meaning familars are based on "summoning attack". So a players attire wouldn't likely effect a familars attack power. Interesting question nonetheless. PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape
Mercifull
A familiars attack isnt only magic based. Most of them are melee and some are ranged. I can't think of many that I use that are magic based. fire titan is magic, moss is strength and ice is attack. Geyser and steel titan are both ranged. As far as I am aware the summoning defence stat on armour etc is only for pvp. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. Zaaps1
Wolpertinger is also magic-based. I do not think having mage-boosting gear, for example, would make a difference. I've noticed all my familiars work about the same no matter my armor. Plus many people slay in melee gear while using a Wolpertinger, and still report that the Wolpertinger did a lot. ~It's Super Effective! Well he was wondering about the scroll they use. Not their regular attacks. But the scrolls don't matter on what you're wearing. I used my Lava Titan's scroll (magic based) while in torags and it still hit, i think is was like a 12 or something. Also people use Steel Titans on tasks and their scrolls are range attacks and they do hit.
