Gin_and_Tonic
Was it really necessary? I mean, buying from shops and selling onto the GE was a simple way to make a little extra cash when doing skills that require a chest (for example Fletching, Herblore in Lumby Basement), or for lower level players to run items such as Eyes of Newt etc. Recipe for Disaster is NOT an easy quest... I did it from level 3, progressively training as needed and ended up with Barrows Gloves at level 66... This took me ages and i was looking forward to finally being able to make some money back while i fletch/alch by buying out the items in the chest and selling em on the GE for a small profit. Now, only two days after i completed the quest, they've dropped EVERY time down to a stock of 10 bar chocolate bars, with a stock of 300, and pots of flour with a stock of 100. But, even then it takes hours for them to return to the default stock and the little bit of extra cash you make it NOTHING compared to what it was. How it this suppose to help stablise GE prices? By removing the supply of certain products, demand will outweigh supply and cause prices to increase... Water runes and Earth runes are near impossible to buy in the GE, so people used to buy from shops... Now they cant. When Chaos and Deaths are increasing, people buy from shops, therefore removing the demand and reducing the pressure on price increases... Now you can no longer buy a feasible amount, i dont see how this is going to make prices fall... Negatives on stock changes; Supply of raw materials has been reduced likely to cause an increase in prices on the GE Players now have to wait for ages till they can get what they need Those little bits of extra money people earnt when skilling as been removed... I honestly see no good that has came out of this. Feel free to fill me in if there was a positive reason for this, but i see none.

Omali
ITT: People forgot that shop stocks were once finite and were made infinite to combat mass bots buying out runes. Jagex can tweak stocks, but this is essentially rolling back an update, but with a new enhancement (The stocks are personal)

Time does kind of stink; it'd be nice if it was increased or if Jagex put a system in place where a higher total level meant faster shop spawns. Gin_and_Tonic
I didn't see what was wrong with the old ones tbh. The prices were always higher than the GE to start with... Well, maybe not Earth/Water, but definitely Fires, Airs etc...
Jaffy1
In all fairness stocks were there years ago as well. Now there are a few up/not-so-bad sides: -You named the example of buying runes. I usually just put an offer in for the night and would have them by the time I log in after school. If not, plan when buying or buy from another player. -I saw the word "bot" come along: well may I just say that it would be rather easy for someone to put a bot for example in Catherby and have it buy infinite plant pots to sell for a LOT of profit? Now you can buy 100 (converting 100 Gp to over 12k, and there's more than 1 farming shop out there)... -It does help people do skills or Quests instead of using shops as a sole reason to earn money. -If it turns out to be a large problem with prices, they might change the stocks. -People buying (for example plant pots as I used in my example) might be pursuaded to utilise the shops selling them. Surely you won't be planting 100 trees within 24 hours anyway. :? On my farming runs I actually do make some extra cash with the plant pots as I buy the stock empty in Ardougne, just for fun. When there were infinite stocks I would never do that as it's a waste of time to keep on buying pots, and it's dull as hell. Although I understand your frustration, it is easily avoided by good planning or obtaining the materials in another way. =D> EDIT: I went to a summoning shop. You can literally buy thousands of shards and they restock very fast. The stores sell more than you could possibly need.. JoeDaStudd
I went to the RfD chest when I was waiting for some of the quest timers to reset (yes I'm one of those who rushed to finish all the pre-quest to the new quest) and noticed theres a lot lot more chocolate bars then they used to be. I'm sure it was over 300 of them all to myself at half the ge price. Still nice for herblorists and low level players. Better then the 50 that used to be in shared stock. Yes, i noticed this, but they've dropped the stock of all the other good items. And i agree it might be good for Herb trainers, but with such a slow respawn time, its not a viable option really. Also for the low level part, im not sure on the stock for players who haven't fully completed the quest, but i doubt its much.
