MstrMonopoly
Hi! I am a noob. Despite me being a noob, I have made over 10 million coins at the GWD. You may say that's ridiculous, that a guy with 75 melees isn't going to make it. But it's not. There are a few boss monsters that you can hunt at about combat level 100, which is what I am. The Giant Mole- This is the easiest boss to kill in all of Runescape... except maybe Gunthor the Brave. NEVER- NEVER go on a lootshare world to kill this guy. Always solo. He's only got 200 HP and only attacks with melee. There are no bodyguards. There are no evil assailants. There are no tricks besides his annoying constant teleporting. If you want to get a feel for what a boss is like, I guess you can hunt this guy. The Chase- The Mole drops several rune items, as well as lots of adamant longswords. Seriously, this guy drops a crapload of addy longswords. He drops the dragon med helm, but yeah, you shouldn't be relying on this as your source of income. The best part of killing the mole is the mole skins and claw that you get. You will get a guaranteed 12k every kill from just the mole skins and claws, and that's not even counting the seeds you get from the bird's nests. [hide=Prayer Method]Prayer Method Minimum Stats- 60 Attack 43 Prayer Recommended Stats- 70 Attack (so you can switch to the whip) 70 Strength (so you can kill the mole faster) 52 Summoning (T-Birds ftw) OR 70+ Agility Done Slug Menace (for Proselyte Armour) Item Setup (Praying) Helm: Helm of Neitiznot > Proselyte Helmet (Sallet) > Initiate Helmet Weapon: Zamorakian Spear > Dragon Longsword > Leaf-Bladed Sword > Guthan's Warspear Shield: Rune Defender > Unholy Book > Book of Balance/Holy Book > Falador Shield Amulet: Fury > Glory > Power > Strength Cape: Trimmed Skillcape > Fire Cape > Obsidian/Untrimmed Skillcape Body: Proselyte > Initiate > Monk's Robe Legs: Proselyte > Initiate > Monk's Robe Boots: Dragon > Rune > Bandos Gloves: Best RFD Gloves you can use > Combat Bracelet Ring: Berserker Ring (i) > Berserker Ring > Explorers Ring 3 The prayer method is more expensive, but for players who are true noobs like me, it's the best. Your inventory should be something like this 4 Prayer Potions Dragon Dagger (p++) 2 Spirit Terrorbird Pouch Tireless Run Scrolls (lots) 2 Emergency Monkfish Super Attack Potion Super Strength Potion (can be replaced by combat pot)[/hide] [hide=Tanking Method]Minimum Levels: 60 Attack 60 Strength 70 Defense Recommended Levels: 70 Attack 70 Strength 80 Defense Item Setup (Tanking) Helm: Torag's/Guthan's helm > Helm of Neitiznot Weapon: Zamorakian Spear > Dragon Longsword > Leaf-Bladed Sword > Guthan's Warspear Shield (If not using Z/G Spear): Dragonfire Shield > Rune Defender > Obsidian Shield Amulet: Fury > Glory Cape: Fire Cape > Skillcape/Obsidian Cape Body: Torag's/Guthan's/Dharok's body > Bandos Chestplate > Dragon Platebody > Dragon Chainbody > Granite Body > Rune Platebody Legs: Torag's Legs > Other high defense legs (higher the better. d skirt > d legs) Boots: Dragon > Rune > Bandos Gloves: Best RFD Gloves > Combat Bracelet Ring: Berserker ring (i) > Berserker ring Inventory: 2x Spirit Terrorbird Pouch Lots of tireless run scrolls 18x Sharks (Pineapple Pizzas if they ever become buyable again) Dragon dagger (p++) Spade Covered Light Source Super Attack Potion Super Strength Potion (can be replaced by combat pot) Super Defence Potion[/hide] [hide=Strategy]The strategy for killing the mole is pretty much the same for both the tanking and the praying method. The most important part is poisoning the mole! First what you must do is dig up the beast. The Mole is located in the Falador Mole Lair, which is in the garden of Falador. Simply use your spade on ANY molehill in the garden. There are a lot. Then go into the mole's lair. The mole is located RIGHT NEXT TO THE SUMMONING OBELISK. Use your Dragon Dagger (p++) specials as soon as you can. Hopefully, you will now poison the mole, which does a lot of damage. Once you get the mole down to about 1/2 of its health, it will run like the coward it is. This is where the Spirit Terrorbird's Special really comes in handy. Simply activate the Tireless Run scroll whenever your energy gets low. If you don't have the Terrorbird I would recommend not bringing energy restores (especially if you have high agility) because it wastes precious slots. After it starts to run I would use your remaining DDS specials and switch to your better stab weapon (Zammy Spear, Dragon Long, Leaf Bladed Sword). At this point it becomes a game of hide and seek. Just track the mole down and smash it to death, eating if you have any trouble. Once again, this is a profitable boss but really no match for any of the big GWD bosses. This being said, it's better than the King Black Dragon, the Chaos Elemental, or the Kalphite Queen. This is because 100% drops > 0.000003% Dragon Chain/2h/Visage drops.[/hide] The King Black Dragon- The one. The classic. The remarkably easy. Once again, no bodyguards. However, the KBD is definitely a step up from the Giant Mole. It is necessary for a noob to bring a super set and prayer potions. It's not totally safe. I actually wouldn't recommend the King Black Dragon unless you're on a Slayer Task and can use a Slayer Helmet. He's not as good profit as the mole unless you get a visage. Nevertheless, he can be fun to hunt because of the three heads. And yeah, the visage would be nice. Oh, and good for charms. The Chase- The Draconic Visage (about 1/1000-2000 from what I've heard), and the DRAGON MED HELM!!!! z0mg. Also, while the Giant Mole drops a lot of addy longs this guy drops a lot of rune longs. He also drops 100% black d'hide and dragon bones, however, it's not nearly as easy to bank after the KBD as the Giant Mole. The KBD is tougher than that stupid mole, but he's still a pushover. I know level 65's that have soloed him. You can solo him in one of two ways- ranging or meleeing. Even then, his max melee hit is only 25. Just keep your HP above say 40 and you'll be fine throughout. It is extremely hard to solo the King Black Dragon without Protect from Melee. In fact, it is extremely hard to solo any boss with melee without 43 Prayer. I'd recommend at least 90 defense in TORAG'S if you attempt to do so.[/hide] [hide=Ranged Method]Ranged Method Minimum Stats: 61 Ranged 40 Defence Recommended Stats: 70 Ranged70 Defence52 Summoning The ranged method, in my opinion, is vastly superior to the melee method. You do not need to pray or eat too much. Also, you can use Ruby Bolts (e) which can hit up to 48 damage. However, this effect does come with the price of 10% of your own hitpoints, so watch your health meter very carefully. The Wilderness portals are located all over the Wilderness. The most easily accessible is the one right outside of the Wilderness Volcano. Use your games necklace to teleport to the Wilderness volcano and then run down the stairs south-east and you will see a thing with four obelisks surrounding it. Activate the obelisks and stand in the middle. You want to get to the portal at level 44 wilderness. If you don't get to this one immediately, keep trying. Once you are at that portal, run southeast and you should see some caged demons. Ignore the demons, praying melee if you have low defense. Climb down the stairs inside the cage. You are now in the Spider Room of the Lair! Make your final preparations and kill that stupid noob. Two problems could happen: OH NO A REVENANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Honestly, Revenants suck. If you're at the level 44 portal, just pray ranged and run to the safety of the King Black Dragon. If you're not, 1) If you're < 30 Wilderness, pray mage and tele the #@#$%$@#$ away. 2) If you're > 30 Wilderness, pray ranged and run to a safer area. The other problem is that you're not hitting enough on the KBD. Fear not! His damage output is so low that it won't matter anyway. You'll be able to get at least one kill no matter what if you have my minimum levels. If you get extremely unlucky simple tele out. Now, for the bosses you guys have been waiting for - Bandos and Zamorak. Armadyl and Saradomin both take much higher levels (Arma basically requires 85+ range to be effective, Saradomin I wouldn't recommend for any levels as Bandos is easier and better money). Of the two, if you're not going to tank, Zamorak is much easier. However, if your tank dies at Zamorak, TELE TELE TELE TELE TELE. Or bless then TELE TELE TELE TELE TELE. Because Zamorak can two shot you. I piety the fool.
onedaysoon
I think this is a great idea :) I know I could write a guide similar to this but it wouldn't be as widely used as I imagine this will be. It's great to see a guide for lower levels written by a lower level, I look forward to seeing it finished :)

MstrMonopoly
Zamorak guide is hopefully going up today. Chaos elemental is only done well with ranged at 85+ or GS, so I'm not going to include that. I piety the fool.

L0rdAki
Critique from a fellow noob. I've also removed some Hide Tags so it's easier to look at, but that might be me...>_> [hide]Hi! I am a noob. Despite me being a noob, I have made over 10 million coins at the GWD. You may say that's ridiculous, that a guy with 75 melees isn't going to make it. But it's not. Some formatting issues. There's lots of spaces everywhere...No bigger sized, different colour headings. Reduce the space between paragraphs, make the titles bigger and a different colour. If i get bored enough, i might do it myself (Don't hold me to it, though >_>) There are a few boss monsters that you can hunt at about combat level 100, which is what I am. You can actually do pretty much every boss, it's just about doing them effectivly...:P The Giant Mole- This is the easiest boss to kill in all of Runescape... except maybe Gunthor the Brave. More nitpicking, but some of the Dungeoneering bosses and Quest bosses are both easier and lower leveled. Like, they don't even move :P NEVER- NEVER go on a lootshare world to kill this guy. Always solo. He's only got 2000 LP and only attacks with melee. There are no bodyguards. There are no evil assailants. There are no tricks besides his annoying constant teleporting. If you want to get a feel for what a boss is like, I guess you can hunt this guy. The Chase- The Chase should really go further down, in the stratagy. Alternativly, move the below down to the bottom, so your format looks like this: [hide]-Name-Introduction-Gear-Method-Rewards-Conclusion[/hide] The Mole drops several rune items, as well as lots of adamant longswords. Could Include a link to the Tip-It drop table. I dunno if Crapload is appropriate for a guide...I don't really mind the language, but in the world of guide writing... Prayer Method Minimum Stats- 60 Attack 43 Prayer Recommended Stats- 70 Attack (so you can switch to the whip) 70 Strength (so you can kill the mole faster) 52 Summoning (T-Birds ftw) OR 70+ Agility Done Slug Menace (for Proselyte Armour) Item Setup (Praying) Helm: Helm of Neitiznot > Proselyte Helmet (Sallet) > Initiate Helmet Weapon: Zamorakian Spear > Dragon Longsword > Leaf-Bladed Sword > Guthan's Warspear Shield: Rune Defender > Unholy Book > Book of Balance/Holy Book > Falador Shield Amulet: Fury > Glory > Power > Strength Cape: Trimmed Skillcape > Fire Cape > Obsidian/Untrimmed Skillcape Body: Proselyte > Initiate > Monk's Robe Legs: Proselyte > Initiate > Monk's Robe Boots: Dragon > Rune > Bandos Gloves: Best RFD Gloves you can use > Combat Bracelet Ring: Berserker Ring (i) > Berserker Ring > Explorers Ring 3 The prayer method is more expensive, but for players who are true noobs like me, it's the best. Your inventory should be something like this 4 Prayer Potions Dragon Dagger (p++) 2 Spirit Terrorbird Pouch Tireless Run Scrolls (lots) 2 Emergency Monkfish Super Attack Potion Super Strength Potion (can be replaced by combat pot) Ok, this is wayyyy to spaced out. Seriously, you don't need the bajillion spare lines everywhere. A single line is enough. Sub-headings should be indented, as well as major headings bolded. Pictures would also be good to include, for maxed gear. Not everyone wants to see a wall of text (informative as it may be). Good ones to include would be a minimalistic picture and a maxed picture, just so people can get an idea at a glance. Keep the flowcharts there, though. I'm not going to critique any of your setups (unless there's a serious flaw, or you want me to), but having 60 Attack as the minimum attack, then having D long > Guthan's warspear... It seems a little counterproductive. If D long is better then Guthan's, then take it out, because Guthans both is more expensive, has a higher requirement, and costs per hour. Minimum Levels: 60 Attack 60 Strength 70 Defense Recommended Levels: 70 Attack 70 Strength 80 Defense Item Setup (Tanking) Helm: Torag's/Guthan's helm > Helm of Neitiznot Weapon: Zamorakian Spear > Dragon Longsword > Leaf-Bladed Sword > Guthan's Warspear Shield (If not using Z/G Spear): Dragonfire Shield > Rune Defender > Obsidian Shield Amulet: Fury > Glory Cape: Fire Cape > Skillcape/Obsidian Cape Body: Torag's/Guthan's/Dharok's body > Bandos Chestplate > Dragon Platebody > Dragon Chainbody > Granite Body > Rune Platebody Legs: Torag's Legs > Other high defense legs (higher the better. d skirt > d legs) Boots: Dragon > Rune > Bandos Gloves: Best RFD Gloves > Combat Bracelet Ring: Berserker ring (i) > Berserker ring Inventory: 2x Spirit Terrorbird Pouch Lots of tireless run scrolls 18x Sharks (Pineapple Pizzas if they ever become buyable again) Dragon dagger (p++) Spade Covered Light Source Super Attack Potion Super Strength Potion (can be replaced by combat pot) Super Defence Potion Again, way to many spaces and not enough pictures. It also doesn't seem as developed as the prayer section at a glance... A heading for the Tanking section needs to be inserted, sub headings need to be indented, ect... The strategy for killing the mole is pretty much the same for both the tanking and the praying method. This is because 100% drops > 0.000003% Dragon Chain/2h/Visage drops. While the methods may be "practically the same", not everyone is at the level of a functional human being (such as us). All differences should be touched on. The tone should also be a little bit more formal, and the bit about the drops should really be moved to the drops section. You're missing a ranging section. There is a few safespots, iirc, and if you bring bird scrolls you can basically pull a sara gwd. You're also missing a conclusion. The stuff about where it's located should also really go in the introduction. The King Black Dragon- The one. See my formatting comments from before. You're not also chasing the KBD - It's more like a hunt. Chase only really applies to CB (if you don't stun the core for some stupid reason), Mole and Sara. This should really go down further in the stratagy section. Also, getting into the 90's means the guide is no longer for noobs. In short, tanking's not really viable for noobs.
