When new skill comes out people who get first capes will gain some attention.

 

When new items come out people who see it first time when you are wearing it may notice you.

 

If you are on first page on high scores (either overall or some particular skill) you do gain some attention.

 

If you are player mod some newer players will notice you

 

If you make great videos on youtube you may get recognised

 

If you are really active poster on forums some people may recognize you in game too.

 

If you invent and abuse serious bugs you'll get banned and remembered :P

 

If you find out something totally new and useful in game and write a good guide about it.

 

 

 

Just a few ways to get fame :P Can't really think anything else just now

being a newb again can be fun, you just have to remember how. A lot has changed since back then, so don't rush through the basics - appreciate all the little things Jagex has improved on.

 

 

 

This right here. I can't count how many times i've wished i could brainwash myself of my Runescape knowledge and become a noob again. So i could explore without worrying about fame or anything like that.

 

 

 

Any at any rate, the only way you can be 'famous' now is if you're a good Runescape Youtube artist(Or someone on the highscores like zem or king diffy, but that's a little on the harder side).

 

 

 

I can count lots of people that have to keep their private off because of their fame from Yt.

 

 

 

Whynay Emnay, Teh Noob show(Don't know his real RSUN), Spark Mac, the list goes on.

 

 

 

Basically, you just need to make goals. Start with small ones. Then you can go for bigger ones.
