Slayer on a budget

Featured Replies

I have 30 mil that I can spend on slayer. The only items I have that are even close to useful for slayer are a rune defender, (t) skillcape, lunar staves, salve (e), and ectophial. I know I need to buy armor, a weapon, and food, but what should I buy and what else will I need?

Guthans until your 68 summoning.

Black mask

1k of each non combat rune

prossy top/bottoms

cannon + about 10k cannon balls (should last you enough tasks)

Cheap food like trout and then monkfish for tasks.

Leaf bladed sword

DDS

Whip

Mind shield

Anti-dragonfire shield

A few 100 or so pure sets

A few 100 prayer pots

All should come to less then 15m

  • Dragon Axe x11
    Berserker Ring x9
    Warrior Ring x8
    Seercull
    Dragon Med
Dragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kc
    Godsword Shard (bandos)
    Granite Maul x 3

Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats]

why do you need combat runes? I never used one during slayer.

He said non combat runes :P for teleing, alching, etc. I guess

Well my set-up is:

Slayer Helm

Fury

Torag's Top

Dharok's Legs

Dragon Boots

Barrows Gloves

Whip

Rune Defender

Warrior's Ring

Then I always bring my Lunar staff for fairy ring transport, tele runes, some alch runes, bunyip pouch or two, super set, and that enchanted gem. I bring a few monks just in case my bunyip can't keep up, which doesn't usually happen.

It's somewhat cheap (well, it was before the whips went up 2m since I bought mine!) and pretty effective, imo. Of course, you can get Guthan's for the healing since you don't have 68 summoning yet, but I'd advise getting 68 since the Bunyips are pretty amazing.

 my bad!

To be honest, I never paid for any pot. You get so many herb drops and herb seed drops with slayer that I always have had a surplus of prayer pots, super sets and the like.

Don't cannon if you are on a budget. You can easily fire away 300k-400k for a single task.

What you really need is a slayer helmet/black mask

Rune defender

whip

some armour (doesn't really matter too much what it is exactly, could as well be rune if you are cheap. Barrows would be better from defensive purposes, guthans is nice if you don't have a bunyip).

Fury.

Ring of Wealth.

D' boots.

Void for ranging.

Save your money for raising prayer and summoning.

Proselyte or monks robes.

prayer book (doesn't have to be zammy)

dragon fire shield or the other one.

Almost all of the money (and the charms) I get will be for summoning. I'll spend the points on getting a slayer helmet. Thanks for the suggestions you two :)
