LilyLegends
Hello. Today I have a question for anyone who can answer. :^_^: My question is not a long one, rather a tricky one (for me apparently). When double runecrafting Astral runes at level 82, what is a better method, using a Terror Bird, or a Abyssal Lurker? I've tried both methods. When Runecrafting with a Terror Bird it seemed to go a lot faster, but then when using a Abyssal Lurker it seemed to bring in a lot more runes. I wasn't very good at calculating my results  I've asked many of my friends, none of which have been able to agree -.- . This is after I had searched the internet looking for the answer. I concluded I should just put the question out there in hopes of someone who is an actual experienced runecrafter. If anyone knows the answer, it'd be so great to have your feedback! Edit: I'd like to make sure everyone realizes what I mean when using a Terror Bird (I wasn't quite clear before  ). When I use a Terror Bird, I do not use it over the Abyssal Lurker, because of it's special that replenishes your energy level. I use it because when using a terror bird, the most common method, and most practical method, is to use three runecrafting pouches. This way you, quickly, fill your pouches with pure essence, then you withdraw more essence to fill your inventory. After this you run to altar, runecraft your pure essence, withdraw quickly from your pouches, then teleport. Then you repeat this whole process. This makes a trip much faster. Also, you use the terror bird, so occasionally when your Energy Levels become low, you withdraw scrolls and replenish your energy levels.
Ronan
I'm not entirely certain on Astral Runecrafting, but I do believe that in the majority of cases it's far more worthwhile to take an Abyssal familiar whilst using Super Energy potions on the rare occasion you require Run-Energy. However - I haven't got any data on this, so I'd love to get a reply from someone who has done some more testing! :)
Maxingmck
terrorbird if lower than 50 agi abyssal familiar if anything else (terrorbird is horrible so get 50+ agility for a lot better rc.) For awhile I also thought that using an Abyssal familiar would be a better familiar to use, too. Then I took into consideration that instead of banking three times, you're only banking twice. You also spend less time storing pure essence into your familiar. This gives you a advantage of the overall time it takes to bank, which you can see if there's another person using an abyssal familiar while you're using a terror bird. Then I also took into consideration that when using a terror bird you're making less essence each trip, about 20 some less astral runes. Then I'm back to being extremely confused #-o
stormveritas
With the new interface, you can set the left click option for the summon button. This makes storing or removing essence to your abyssal familiar MUCH easier. I definitely recommend getting the abyssal guy going. If you can get the agile gear, you're completly all set. I sprint the entire time I'm runecrafting with absolutely no need for super energies.
The_Fray
Go with the abyssal familiar, the 3 pouch method is only effective when graahking.
Zaaps1
Could you please change the font? I know it's nothing big but that was a bit of a pain to read. Thanks. Definitely use a Lurker. It lets you craft ~300 more ess per hour. You can mimic the Terrorbird's effects by drinking 1 dose of super energy potion every 5-10 runs or so (you only sacrifice 1 rune per 5-10 runs by doing this). Clearly, the terrorbird has no place in runecrafting. ~It's Super Effective! Then I'm back to being extremely confused #-o I gave this a bit of consideration too; I believed that although you're right - it does require another Banking and Crafting process, the extra 7 essence crafted each trip should outweigh the extra time taken especially given the recent alterations to banking and crafting / emptying pouches. :) ... Glad to have a few more numeric references to back the point up; numbers are good. :)
LilyLegends
Okay then! Thank you everyone for your advice. I guess the unanimous decision was to use an Abyssal familiar then :^_^:
swampjedi
If you can get the agile gear, you're completly all set. I sprint the entire time I'm runecrafting with absolutely no need for super energies. With agile legs, spottier cape, and boots of lightness, I'm able to stay 0kg with the rest of my armor slots filled with rune/dragon armor. It's great - I never run low on run energy, and the Suqah don't hit me enough to make food necessary (even at 68 defense)! Zaaps1
On the topic of items that reduce your weight, you should remember that making your weight any lower than 0kg is pointless, because a negative weight is the same thing as 0 weight (in Runescape, at least). This means there is NO difference between -32 kg and 0 kg. ~It's Super Effective!
