Wyverns

Got my first wyvern task today. I'm meleeing them with whip, mind shield, Guthan's top, Dharok's legs, fury, slayer helm, dragon boots, and barrows gloves. I take a war tortoise filled with monks, an EE, and a full inventory of monks, but I still only manage around 25 or so wyverns a trip. What am I doing wrong? Should I be using another weapon? A different barrows set? Praying? Block wyverns entirely? Please help!

I blocked them because I find them slow to kill. I don't know that you're necessarily doing anything wrong; they are just obnoxious. Still, the AoW guide shows they can be underrated, if you can put up with them.

Verac skirt and torags plate is better than what you are wearing, but with those stats I wouldn't expect to kill much more than 25 per trip. Don't think praying would be worth it, you're better of either biting your teeth together and sticking to it or blocking the task.

He's right about switching the legs, although I believe the two chest armours mentioned are equal.

i don't think your doing anything wrong. 25 kills a trip seems about right.

If you want, you can turn off protection prayers and use piety instead? that's what i do.

The wyvern uses melee/range/dragon breath, so protection prayers dont help that much

I don't think that totally fair. Some people actually find them useful. But you are right about one thing, it's that they are hard to kill and that he's not doing anything wrong. :thumbsup:

You're right, he isn't doing anything wrong. They are just hard to kill. :-w

They are difficult to kill. I'm 116, about ur lv, and they're really hard. I have issues with them too, but i have them perm blocked so i dont have to big of problems

With my stats, wearing the same gear except for having Bandos, and using a D Scim and a Uni to heal with i got about 33 kills. Could have gotten more though. They aren't a easy task, but if you have to bank, just bring as many bones as you can. At 5k a bone its not bad money to be banking with. Just keep going and you should have it done soon enough. If you want you could also use a cannon to help speed it along.
