Cost of summoning experience

I'm planning on spending some money on bursting (barraging when I get 3 more magic levels) and using the charms for summoning. I have access to extreme mage pots, and was just wondering if anybody had a range of how much each exp would cost for summoning (and magic too if possible).

 

I would be using ice burst and extreme mage pots, until 94 magic at which point I'll switch to ice barrage. I'm 89 summoning at the moment, if that affects the gp/exp ratio.

 

Edit: By summoning exp, I mean the cost of the runes and the shards/summoning ingredients. Not just the shards/seconds.

Btw, you should switch to Smoke Barrage now since it is far more effective than Ice burst and little extra cost compared to Ice Barrage, yet is just as effective.

91-96 summoning cost me 7 gp/xp. Ice bursts used to get you ~110k summoning xp per 1k casts, that would be 155k/1k with extreme mage pots. So, you're paying about 10gp/xp to get the charms, and 7 gp/xp to use them. 17 gp/xp total.

I'm not sure about barraging, I heard it costs about the same per charm but gets you less mage xp per charm. It will always be under 20 gp/xp, if you can afford that you shouldn't have to worry.

Do you have some data on the smoke barrage thing? I'm planning to go bursting soon but if it really is a lot better I'll do smoke barrage.

I do, but this is pre-staff update and pre-herblore update. This is also with smoke barrage and without SGS.

 

114k magic xp/hr

 

59.5k hp xp/hr

 

513 casts/hr

 

6 blue/hr

 

40 green/hr

 

163 crim/hr

 

96 gold/hr

 

1.45 ppots/hr = ~6 doses/hr

 

 

 

1 cast = 222 magic xp

 

1 cast = 115 hp xp

 

1 blue = 85.5 casts

 

1 green = 12.825 casts

 

1 crim = 3.15 casts

 

1 gold = 5.34 casts

It costs 2.5k/cast instead of 1.4k/cast for ice burst though, do you really think a 25% increase in speed is worth that?

 

Ice barrage costs 2750 gp/cast at the moment, would it be worth it to use smoke barrage over ice barrage?

Technically speaking, smoke barrage SHOULD be faster than ice because of the poison, but the difference is very minimal. They are more or less the same in speed.

 

Smoke simply costs more because the requirement is lower.

Ah okay, I'll have to try that then! The max hit of smoke barrage being 3 lower than ice barrage's max shouldn't matter much.
