I felt like maging in Clan Wars. I bought a Zuriel staff, bought some runes and some magic potions, and teleported to Clan Wars. I entered the FFA area, and walked to the far east. Once I am at the 3 white buildings, I see a level l28 with an AGS and Bandos', so I start attacking him and cast the Miasmic Barrage + Ice Barrage combo. I hit him for a total of 53 damage. He started flaming me for a farcaster. But seriously, do you really expect me, a Mage in Ahrim's, to just stand still so you can kill me in a few hits? Idiot. Anyway, out of nowhere a small clan of 4 people, Rangers and Meleers, all start to pile on me while I am still busy killing the AGS guy. "Aight..." I thought. I went back, and went to the very north this time. I see 4 players, all of them being Rangers. I start attacking one, but before my opponent had a chance to attack me back, I was already being PJed by someone else again. I go back again, and attack a random person. I'm immediately being PJed yet again by someone with claws. I try to freeze him. I succeed, and run a few steps back so I can farcast him. But as you may already foresee, someone else started to attack me while I was farcasting the claw guy, saying "gf noob farcaster newb".

How am I supposed to mage properly when I'm being PJed every single time? Why did Jagex remove it in PvP/Bounty Worlds, but not in Clan Wars etc? It's so annoying. Why does everyone hate on Magic so much, ughh...

People hate magic, the ability freeze/jack up stats

makes you want to pile ancienter and such.

Well the reason i am thinking of why PJ stayed in clan wars,

because you aren't killing anyone for their LOOT.

While in PVP/BH you are killing people

for their loot and need the extra time to loot.

Its a free for all, so their not jumping you at all. Its like saying in Cwars if your in 1 on 1 combat and someone joins in their jumping you.

Since you have the runes and were on ancients you could have frozen the "jumpers" and retreated.

Key word in your post is FFA.

Except that Castle Wars is multi, while not all of FFA is in multi zone. I try to battle players in the 1v1 zone.

Ah cwffa mage haters... I've dealt with these idiots plenty of times on my home world where i used to frequently visit ffa.Although jagex really needs to add the "no pjing a mage" mechanic to safe pvp as well, i don't think they'll do it anytime soon. So all i can do is give a few tips.

*Use the rock formation to the left of the portal, it gives good warning when people are trying to attack you from your right near the barrier you can see them running around the rocks to get to you, giving you enough time to react and freeze him.The rocks make it easier to take on multiple mêlées attempting to "tag" you because you have some spaces to stand and make it hard for a meleer to move to your position quickly. This doesn't work for rangers,as they'll simply shoot over the rocks. (kinda hard to explain in text, but it works much better than being out in the open)

*DO NOT go near the multi combat area where the higher lvls tend to hang around, they'll just pile you for free xp.Once after getting fed up with them i tanked them all using blood/shadow barrage and they actually started a temp clan just to bring me down...

*When it comes to void rangers, just hybrid. You'll waste runes on anyone with 85+ ranged in void.

*Be very aware of your surroundings, people see a mage and they'll want to attack head on with specials and usually come from the sides or behind you.

*Mage on one, non-designated ffa world.I maged on my homeworld6 and people knew me pretty well. After a while some people will get to know you and will stop attacking you on sight. Some even protect you from taggers as you slaughter poor meleers.

Hope these helped, although I still can't help stop the tagging kids crying over a lone mage kicking their butts.
