Slayer stuff

Is it worth having a gs. If money is no question? Or not I mean some tasks would be nice but....

No. A whip and rune defender does way better then a GS on most tasks. There are a few tasks where whip isn't the best, but there are better options then a GS for those. The only GS i find to be useful is the SGS for its spec. Other wise the whip would be the best.

Whip+Rune Defender has higher damage per second than the GS. A Zamorakian Spear is good for Waterfiends (crush) and Aquanites (stab), as well as Black Dragons if you're willing to take their melee damage (Mage+Anti-Fire pot completely blocks breath); they are so weak to stab you will kill them far faster than with a Whip. An SS is good for Strength training, but is better for some tasks where the monster is weak to crush (like Gargoyles or Waterfiends) than the Whip.

The only Godsword good for slayer is the SGS, and that itself is a luxury item. A Bunyip can eliminate the need for any additional healing on most tasks, combining it with the Enhanced Excalibur (which is a mere 500gp) eliminates even more. Many tasks reccomend you use prayer (like Abberant Spectres or Black Demons).

In short, the Abyssal Whip and Zamorakian Spear are really the only two weapons you'd; the SS is fine but not neccesary, and I'd only reccomend getting the SGS if you have a 300m cashpile. It really is unneccesary.

When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.

Whip + Dfs or rune defender and SGS for specs. Or, Sara Sword. Buy guthans, get a bunyip, and you won't need an sgs. Otherwise, they're too slow to be good.

Thanks for the tip. I shall spend my money in a different area.

A godsword is good for some tasks (KBD, black demons and lessers [k'ril]), but 99.9% of them its not worth using one.

SGS is nice, but EE and an almost infinite amount of prayer potions for the same price well SGS seems stupid in comparison. (I sold my SGS for 88 summoning and to unlock EE, well the summoning is the big one first of course)

I just loved the SGS for slayer.

I did a few levels without it (sold it to pay for 88 summoning), but didn't like it at all. In hindsight I rather have an SGS than 88 summoning for slayer. And of course I just made a bit of money and bought a new SGS (didn't spend it all on summoning of course ;))

Bunyip heals? Of course, but SGS also tops up prayer for free and heals. And if you use a bunyip as well, some tasks just become so much easier and faster.

Guthans heals? Of course, but who wants to carry around full guthan all the time?
