Fishing -- Do We Need More?

Yeah it would be nice, but we must consider what might happen to The Wilderness. It's not going to work if it heals more than sharks, and is there so much point in putting another fish in as a gap-flller?

And although the fishing guild isnt really that great in that you cant get any special fish there or catch anything particularly faster, but i *HATE* Catherby with a passion, so much spam...

There is an ignore public chat option.

A gap filler would be useful for experience gaining, and making the guild actually useful.

I would say that we really should not put more fish in the game; Jagex is making it too easy to get levels now! I know that everyone wants to get to level 99 fishing as fast as possible, but if everyone has 99 fishing, it upsets that balance of the game......updates like new fish to make it easier to level up hurts old players be making it so that the hours of work that they put in, the new player can gain the same amount of levels in half the time! DOing this would kind of be kind of like how the new fishing style of RS2 hurt all of the old fishermen of RS classic; it used to take hours to gain levels, not it takes about a forth of the time. I say no, do not add more fish in-between.....it makes the game too easy.

I thought this thread was for better fish, not better fishing exp? Unless I completely misunderstood EVERYTHING.

The Fishing Guild is better than Catherby because at Catherby, people are horribly mean there. At the fishing guild, you find that most people don't even talk.

Like I said, there's an ignore chat option. The Fishing Guild is meant to be for fishing; not for improved socialisation. As such, it should have benefits for fishing that other places do not receive.

I think they need to add a fish thats 90 fishing and 90 cooking, fished somehow in fishing guild that would restore more hp. Everything else in fishing is fine as I see it; however, it takes 5 sharks just to heal myself to full hp, pretty weak if you ask me. Theres also tons of high level fishers and cooks that would love if they could produce a product with some real value.

I agree, we need more fishies! 94 fishing and still stuck with sharks >_

I don't think that will be necessary until an *overwhelming* amount of players have a comparable fishing level. For now, most are striving to be able to fish and cook sharks. Your desire for more fish is reasonable, just not really needed at this time.

i no but i waw a pretty serious fisher and it took me like like a 1 month 2 get from 50 2 66. not only that but it doesnt have to heal more then shark it can heal like 15 or soming

i agree they should add like 7 new fish and a new fish you can only get at lvl 99 like a giant shark or gaint sqiud

correct me if i am wrong, but i am pretty sure the topic of this thread was not to make a better fish then sharks, but more easily caught then turtles or mantas. But to make a fish somewhere in between sharks and swordfish. Like a lvl 60 and/or 70 fish just to make it so swordfish arent the best for like 30 lvls.

The expericince would not effect the rate in which people gain lvls. Because it would be harder to cathc the fish so while the xp is better it still isn't the fastest. IN case you didn't know flyfishing in Shilo Village is the fastest in the game. So those of you who think it would make gaining lvls easier would be wrong. Although it would be hard to assign it how many hp it heals. Becuase you would need to make it enough for its lvl but not too much so it doesn't hurt the balance. But i don't think that it is really a problem as long as it is less then sharks.

Your true character is what you are like when you believe there are no repercussions.

i agree with th efirst post fully, fishing is getting boring and het gap between sharks and swordies is huge, i can catch swordies and i have to BUY sharks for 1K eack thts alot of money something that heals inbetween and catchable at lvl 60, thats and excelent idea!!!!

i agree they should add like 7 new fish and a new fish you can only get at lvl 99 like a giant shark or gaint sqiud

Ever thought of the fact that teh only skills that really are worth getting lvl 99 in are combat related skills and smithing, all teh others stop at about lvl 85 or 75, so hell yea i agree lvl 99 fish come to papa (and of course lvl 99 cooking with it)

And not only fishing, they should add something to every skill that makes having lvl 99 better tehn 85, it is a 5 millinon xp diference...

  • 1 month later...

i think you got a good idea i mean im lvl 58 fishing now and i think that it would be nice to look forward to something thats closer then sharks because they are so far away. The idea with the crayfish sounds good too but maybe somethin like a piranah and it would definetly make the guild more useful to people

Thank you Yaff2 for the amazing sig and avvy

How about Kwambwan at the fishing guild? Thats a fish that barely anyone would use. I tryed fishing it but it took too long to get to the bank and back. And i ended up poorly cooking most of them..

In the guild would be a great idea!

How about different sized fishes worth different things. I mean, anyone level 50 and up can catch swordfish, so let's try giving higher leveled nonmember fishers a better deal.

Example:

Level 50- Catches mostly SMALL SWORDFISH, less SWORDFISH, and even less LARGE SWORDFISH.

Level 55- Catches mostly SWORDFISH, less SMALL SWORDFISH, and even less LARGE SWORDFISH.

Level 60- Catches mostly LARGE SWORDFISH, less SWORDFISH, and even less SMALL SWORDFISH

And of course with other fish too... :D

You guys are close. Heres me ideas.

Change name of "Shark" to "Pygmy Shark" and move it to level 75

at lv 85 add "Tiger Shark. At level 99 add "Great White."

At level 60 Add Puffer fish. (Sqeeze for poison barbs. Used for arrows.)

When eating they heal 20 but hae a chance of doing 10% damage.

Put all these accessed via a small island that you take a ship from located in fishing guild. Cost 200gp.

A mad scientist in the attic, the owner is a vampire that dwells in the basement, a witch, skeletons, ghosts....

And you thought YOUR neighbors were weird!
