Would it be viable to use leech defense and a stole at tormented demons instead of just a fury?

Fury isn't a necessity. You can always just switch out fury for stole without having to use curses. If you want to use curses, leech defense is definitely a good choice. Also, since prayer is more important than defense/attack bonuses at TD's, stole is almost as good as fury. Doesn't matter either way which one you use.

If you want to use any prayers piety probably would be better as Tormented Demons don't have much defence. I wouldn't change to a stole as you're giving up too much bonus, and +5 prayer isn't much really, considering you'd probably have 20/25 prayer bonus with a standard gear in fury.

 

This is if you don't use void (I find it too much hassle), I'd probably use a fury with void though as void range doesn't hit often.

I was really asking more about how comparable the drainr ate of deflect+leech at 17 bonus as opposed to just deflect at 12 bonus would be, I just asked in a rushed and inspecific way. Also, what gear do you take,Pikachu? I can't see managing over 20...and I'd have to sacrifice about 40 range bonus to do so... I don't use void, currently I go in...

Lol, your gear is horrible. First of all, don't take wealth to TD's. Wealth increases chances for good drops (e.g. visage), and at TD's, ruined armor pieces are the rarer/better drops. Wearing a wealth decreases chances for claws and increases chances to get an armor piece. Also, lose the EE. Take Verac Skirt for sure and climbing boots. You might also want to take 50 or so ruby (e) bolt for the first few hits on the TD without shield up. A 50+ really helps out since range is the limiting factor at TD's for most people. Take 2 unicorns (1 out) and 50 scrolls for each. 1 Super restore + 3 brews and the rest sharks. Once you get good at luring TD's, you'll never have to worry about going over your unicorn scroll limit. Considering you have Yak, you could also take a few P Pots in there. I take 12+ P Pots and last for 40+ kills (or until I get bored).

 

If you can afford any type of GS, use it.

Also, Visage is definately a side drop. I got one from a Black Dragon with Law Runes.

Well 1230 your post really seems to discredit you...and as the deplorably sad record in my signature will tell you, I have plenty of experience killing these things, and have managed to find a very efficient method to do so. On your suggestions...

 

+Verac skirt/climbing boots-Increased melee defense is of no use to an experienced hunter, so the only bonus is the 3 prayer, which I manage fine without, dhide increases range accuracy notably, does not decrease melee accuracy, and is cheaper to replace if you have an unstable computer like I do.

 

+Wealth-honestly I personally place no value in anyone's opinion on this matter, Jagex said that they should "probably" be more explicit in the kb or something to that affect a while ago, and I am happily awaiting that illumination.

 

+"Lose the ee"-iI a word, why? There is no loss whatsoever from taking it to use in an emergency situation. Anyone who has been down there for a considerable amount of time will have run into the "I've never been here before can you help me?" people who scramble up the tds before teleporting away and get all sorts of hits on you. Sacrificing 5 minutes few d hally specs for a free shark is acceptable in an emergency.

 

+Limiting range-completely false. The xbow hits faster, and I have a considerable range boost. The hally does hit harder, but it is painfully slow. Taking extra bolts only serves to slow you down and waste spaces, and the weak defense of the demons makes diamond bolts unnecessary(specs rarely activate here anyways).

 

+2 Ponies-completely unnecessary and inefficient. People seem to think that staying for more kills is good, unless you are taking more pure sets(and losing out on precious inventory spaces), you will be killing the demons slowly after your first pure set runs out. It takes less than 4 minutes to bank, so I see no reason to extend trips beyond the limit of one unicorn and part of a t birds timer.

 

+Godsword-Again glance at my signature, money is not an issue. I have tried every td setup that you could think of, halberds outperform godswords markedly. Yes, you will get kills more quickly with a godsword. However, you will use much more prayer, which will require you to take more potions. You will also need to pay more attention, which will cut down on my tv time drastically. Some sacrifices are too grave to make.

No, the leech defense curse is not efficient at all. The increased accuracy is not notable enough to warrant the increase in prayer consumption. Every other post seems to be a response to your post, so there is realy nothing else to address in this topic.

Lol, it's a fun side habit. Things get corrected very quickly, so I just do it because I can. Most incorrect edits are fixed in a matter of a few minutes to an hour or so. I just edit pages so I can take a pic of it and show it to my friends. Also, your mentality isn't all that great either. If I do X, then it must obviously mean I harm Y. Good deduction skills. I edit Wikipedia, so therefore I kill puppies.

It's BETTER than the competition. Being an experienced hunter, you shouldn't discredit an obviously more efficient method. I solo TD's all the time in V Skirt, and the prayer bounes > + 20 whatever in attack for range. All I use range for is to put down the TD's shield, and them combo right after with a GS.

Sure...? It's how I gear up, and considering you have stats similar to mine, I told you what I take. If you're saying I suck balls at killing TD's, maybe we should duo sometimes. I never take EE because I never have to heal over my unicorn.

For most it is. Most people I know take a GS or whip with good gear. Range is far less accurate than a whip in almost every care, so therefore it's a limiting factor.

2 hours of constant killing is good, and about as long as any amount of P Pots will ever last. 1 unicorn wont last for the duration of 12+ P Pots, and 2 unicorns is more than enough. Do you kill TD's with a bull ant + bronze dagger or something...? Kills are fast with leech defense or turmoil, and banking for more trips is cumbersome. I'd rather take a ton of p pots + 2 unicorns and not have to bank halfway between my trip.

Lol, wut? GS sacrifices prayer? You mean a +8 prayer bonus uses more prayer than a hally that hits slower and has no prayer bounes? Lol, what is this? I've duo'd with people who use hally's, and they're horrible. Always hiding behind the rock and taking forever to switch/attack with range. With a GS/whip, I can combo right after a range attack, letting me do more damage and increasing my speed. Also, wtf? Pay more attention? Watch TV? You base you methods around being inefficient? OT: Leech defense is very good in combination with Leech Range. I've tried turmoil, and its uses are fairly null compared to piety in places where melee is already strong. I already hit very well with a GS, so a stronger piety is almost useless. Leech range reduces TD's range attack level while raising mine and leech defense lowers its defense level by up to 25%. This make it easier to hit with range, which is always slower than melee for me. Also, leech range + defense has a very slow drain rate, and it's only supposed to be used when you switch off to range. If you find you're not hitting well with range, try leech range once in a while. If that still doesn't work, try using a cannon. I've had one explode at the beginning of my TD trip, so it's not all that safe, but it hits like a gs.

Well if you know its a side drop, then you know that side drops aren't affected by the RoW. Such items include clues and charms, as well as the visage.
