December 28, 200916 yr I've just exhausted all other possible ventures that I could think of. Can any of you help me? I'm trying to find something that will let me run a 3.5 campaign over the net. No, I can't just do it irl. I live out in the middle of nowhere, and there are NOT a lot of people in this area who'd be interested in the first place. I'm looking for something that can do this while both remaining free and at least moderately easy to use. If at all possible, I'd also like it to be able to add in classes and the like. December 28, 200916 yr Could always give Neverwinter Nights a shot. Can probably pick it up for cheap and it has a really robust engine for creating and hosting games. [e]: I'm not sure was version of D&D NWN was.
December 28, 200916 yr Author It looks interesting, but it isn't really a direct DnD campaign. I'm not looking for something that could pass as an MMO, I'm looking for something that runs DnD. That means it should run the same as an in-person game, but over the net. Nice find, but not quite what I'm looking for. December 28, 200916 yr IRC with a dice roll script? That's about as close to real D&D over the internet I could imagine you can get. Granted I've never played it, but it makes sense. No worries about lag either. My heart is broken by the terrible loss I have sustained in my old friends and companions and my poor soldiers. December 28, 200916 yr Author Alright, I'll be more specific. I want a program that allows the transfer of the whole table-top setup (map, pieces, all the various standard rules of 3.5, etc) to the computer, and allows the DM to run this whole shebang roughly as smoothly as the tabletop version, and allows the addition of house rules (modifications to existing stuff, addition of new stuff, that sort of thing). Understand? I simply don't think that IRC will cut it alone. December 28, 200916 yr I'm not completely sure, but are you talking about something like this? [Edit] Sorry, I haven't even used the program yet. I just had found it some days ago and thought it was cool. :-P This signature is intentionally left blank.
December 29, 200916 yr Author Meol, precisely. One problem with that program, though. I can't even get past the join game screen. If you can give me some assistance, I'd love that. Otherwise, I'm still looking. Thanks for the find, though!
