Closing doors for no reason

So, one day I decided to go to the wizard's tower to play the Great Orb Project. Right at the entrance, however, there were a group of people using doors to shut off other players in the individual rooms.

 

They shut me into one of the rooms, and even when I asked politely, "Can you please leave the door open?", they continued to play around with me. Eventually, I had to cabbage-port out.

 

It's not just players shutting doors, it's when doors automatically shut or when you find that they are already closed. It's not just doors either, it can be gates, manholes, trapdoors, whatever.

 

This may not seem like much, but whether a door is open or not can mean life or death (if in combat). This also wastes seemingly insignificant but precious seconds. Remember, time is money.

 

Why can't Jagex keep them open? Like, disable the option to close doors, and make it a right-click "Examine" just like all the other stationary objects.

 

Or maybe let players walk through open-able doors/gates/etc. Revenants can do that, and since they are used to replace pkers, players should have that ability too.

 

And don't those players that keep closing doors have something better to do instead of wasting their time? Same with all those people just randomly chatting in Lumbridge/Varrock/Grand Exchange.

Door-shutting bots was one of the reasons that bank doors are permanently open. Besides, I thought that certain doors became stuck after a while.

all doors stick after spamming. used to get stuck in lumbridge kitchen all the time because of it, and a lot of the more popular ones are now permenetly opened. and it takes longer to close in the first place, so someone spam clicking the other side as people play with the doors get through. and I'm ocd enough to shut every door I opened to get through, so it's annoying.

There is only one F2P GOP world...

 

Also, as I stated in OP, ALL normal doors/gates/trapdoors should be permanently open, not just bank doors and popular ones. Though, ones that require keys to get through (like Edgeville dungeon), or ones that you can't control whether they are open or not (like Draynor Manor), and so forth, should be left as it is, obviously.

 

And what do you guys mean by "stuck"?

If you spam a door, it will soon get stuck open and it wont close for a while.

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing it up.

 

Still, spamming a door just to keep the door open isn't worth it, and it's only temporary anyway.
