Pvp weapons

I've been thinking of buying a vls and swh (non corrupt) but I'm not sure how long they will last. I've heard that they degrade in your inventory while you are in combat. Is this true? Or do they only degrade while equipped?

 

Any information from people who have used these weapons would be helpful

They only degrade while equiped, otherwise it'd be quite insane.

PvP weapons and armor are just like FOG items. As long as you don't wear the item, they do not degrade.

 

My friend has a Green Dragonhide Coif in his bank for several months now, and it is still 100 charge.

Sorry, I meant to ask if they degraded in your inventory while you are in combat. I've heard that pvp weapons degrade while you are in combat even if they are not equipped

Corrupt degrade whilst equipped, regardless of whether you are in combat,

 

Non-corrupt only degrade in combat, but remember, technically you are still in combat 10 seconds after combat has finished, so it would be wise to unequip corrupt or non-corrupt at all times, except during worth-while combat.

They only degrade when you actually have them equipped and are fighting with them. What you will usually see is with VLS people will use it mainly for Pking and occasionally specs for boss monsters. SWH is used mostly for corp, but also some other boss's. As they do end up degrading pretty quickly, and are both over 10m, I would not suggest buying them unless you know you can make the cash back easily :P

Some of my friends bought SWHs for Corp when we did it with a small group. From what they said everytime they equipped it and used the specs it counted as a full minute of use, since they thought it lasted for 60 equips.

It's kind of hard to explain, I do know for a fact they only degraded whilst using in combat, I think also the first hit ticks the timer as I've lost PvP weapons on the first hit. Not really sure about hybridding but I'm pretty sure it degrades a full minute everytime you whip it out. Hmmm, I would conduct tests but I'm still too poor to actually waste PvP weapons
