Flair
Hey guys. Basically, I used to play this quite alot a long time ago, and i;ve played for short periods between then and now, but not for long time. I logged on teh other day, found an account i still remembered the details for, and started running around and decided to give it ago again. Problem is, i'm a bit lost. Everything changed so much, i'm rather confused as to where to start. I'd quite like to lvl my combat stats, since they are probably quite low compared to lots of the content now i'd imagine. Heres a basic run down of my char and his stats. Equipment is pretty much just full rune plate armour, with a 2h. got a pick and hatchet in rune too for mining/wc.Stats are.Str: 55Att: 52Def: 43HP: 51Magic: 48 Mining: 53Smith: 40Cook: 54Fish: 55WC: 54 Then the rest of the stats are at 30 or less. All the older skills are above 10. I have been working towards getting the varrack easy achievement for the armour the gives you better mining and smithing chances, but after that i'm not sure what to focus on. Always been my problem with this game, i just scat between all sorts and nver actually get anything done :P EDIT: Oh, I have got members too. Thats obviously going to make a diff in the advice givin i imagine :P
Flair
I've now got the varrack easy achievement. So, now i'm an entirely rudderless ship, with no idea which direction to sail? Hasnt anyone got any suggestions?
Aeon_
If you need money, start clue hunting at the Varrock guards or pickpocketing HAM members or minotaurs. You may also want to train wc to 60 using Ivy and then cutting yews. If you want to get combat up, start killing hill giants or train slayer. Then you'll train 2 skills at once. Complete as many quests as possible, like the Lost City and other quests like that. Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.-Random Youtuber

I remember now I was grinding them in the edgeville dungeon i think. was a shortcut by the cooking guild iirc. I was gonna do Lost City, but figured i'd get my att to 60 first, then run it. Then might have to look into making money, but should be ok, i've got about 400k it seems and about 1k coal in the bank. Hopefully thats still as valuable as it was before :D
bickers
slayer is decent cash you train 2 skills at once and its better to start it at low levels so you can keep it in proportion to your melle skillsand 2h isnt a very good weapon use a scim
Maxingmck
you need 68 wc to cut ivy so the wcing ivy to 60 doesnt exactly work  Noobs: We pay we sayJaGeX: How much will you pay?

I'm guessing the scimmy hits fasters and therefore steal proportanitly more damage. I'll look into changing that over now. Guessing I'll want a kite to go with that too. Thanks for the advice so far guys, its been muchly helpful :) Bad Luck on my part i think. Just got a slayer assignment. Green Dragons :( Somehow I dont think thats getting done for a while. I dont fancy getting ganked to hell in the wilderness.
bickers
you can always change it at burthope slayer master if you dont want to do it green drags are also in CT with baby blacks for shield you can use a rune kite but try to get a rune defender its one of the best shields for training

I shall certainly work towards getting one as soon as i hit that tho. I realised i could chaneg it, and had done so :D. Slayer/Combat is working quite nice. Slayer up to 14, and att is already at 56 (did some hill giant training too). This rate I should get 60 by tomo evening, and then i can start on the quests for dragon weapons. Should help me with doing the other quests that need you to take on some big lvl mobs.
Umoria
Yes, slayer is the best option to get combat up. And some monsters can drop quiet some nice stuff, even if you are lower level.Clue's can be really worth it to expend your cashpile. If you think you aren't up for a task, Burthope and get a new one. Don't hessitate. If your combat is better, go with the Lost City yes, for the dragon longsword and dragon dagger. You might want to poisen the dagger for better use  And try to do some quests wich are available. Questing can be fun, and can have some nice exp along.Don't know about the requirements for Tears of Guthix quest. If you can do it, do it FIRST. Once a week you can enter a cave, collect the blue tears and drink the tears. You get exp for your lowest skill. Keep in mind you need 100K exp gained in a week OR 1 questpoint gained in a week before you can enter the cave. A nice way of making some money, and get some combat expierence is herbs. Herbs went through the roof with the herblore update and the overload potions. Non tradeable, so higher level herblorists need to make them on their own, buying the herbs.Chaos Druids (level 13) drop a lot of herbs, and sometimes some seconds. You can keep some herbs for own use, and sell the others. Last but not least, do what is fun for you. It's all about fun  "We had gay burglars the other night. They broke in and rearranged the furniture."
Flair
Hehe. Yeah, obviously I'll do what i used to do. Which was quite alot of mining and smithing :D And making str pots (Basic ones). The price of which seems to have gone through the roof. If I need quick cash, I thinkt thats the easiest one to do. By my rekoning, i can make about 1.8k per pot even if i AH the ingredients. And I generally have a nice stockpile cos I often train combat on the spiders to pick up eggs, and HGs drop limps all the time. I find Giant drops alot of herbs too. Its definately a skill i plan to work on, but theres a few i'm looking to get better first. Getting back into the swing. Everyone help has been great, nice to find a forum that nice to new people. Was expecting masses of sarcasm, and am pleasently suprised :) I'm gonna start doing quests once I get to 60 att, I seem to recall I'd done just about every quest tht i could I had done at the time i left, the rest required some major skilling up. I just wanna have soemthing red. So bored of rune, I'm pretty sure this char has never worn anything other then rune (which probably tells how obscenely old it is :P) Anyway, I should get my nose back to the grind stone if i'm gonna hit 60 tonight!
