Forced to Change Username?

Ok so a few days ago i was playing and I randomly got logged off. When i tried to log in it said something weird and that i had to change my username and click on a small link.

When i clicked on it it showed the same screen that pops up when you change your username and it said if i didn't change my name would be something like #43758dksaf9(random but what it was like, included the # for first letter/ symbol). This was only a couple days after changed my previous name to SMDVengnerdS.

Would this happen if name was "offensive". Or what?? I've gotten no messages saying something about it.

Sorry i had no picture as my friends username was like #u283578fj at one time to but he hasn't been on to ask.

Quite obvious the SMD is offensive, yes

I believe the forced username change is because of a offensive username.

I honestly don't find that much offensive. As there are much more offensive ones out there that i've seen multiple times.

Good luck convincing Jagex that SMD stands for "Saradomin's Misthalin Disciples"

I find it very insulting and I always report people with SMD in their name, or when they say it. If you say that in real life to your teacher or boss, I don't think they'll be very pleased either, would they?

I've always changed it to "Serve My Dinner?" followed by "I'm not your Mother."

EDIT: Though now I think about it, "I'm not your Mother." might be funnier if I don't add the "Serve My Dinner?" part.

It doesn't matter if they play or not, it's the insulting part I don't agree with. Although I'm just 18, I agree with many adults youth nowadays has way too few respect and act like swearing and insulting is nothing. A little more respect to each other wouldn't harm, not the ones who read your name or text you type, nor would it harm the person who types it.

u mad bro?

In all seriousness, if you're actually offended by something a probable 12 year old says on Runescape, you need to get outside more. (Or you're a half decent troll)

Or, he just finds a reference to a demeaning sexual activity insulting. Would you consider the user name "suck my ****" offensive? Probably. And you should definitely understand why others would, and would almost definitely get offended if someone said it to you. Just because its an acronym doesn't make it any better. And by saying it to your teacher/boss, he meant SAYING it, as in not typing, ie. in person. Should your boss/teacher know what the acronym means, chances are they won't like it.

As for swearing....swears are just words that society has decided are offensive. By teenagers constantly using them, they are slowly changing society's view of the word; a view, however, that the older generation will not embrace. But this is a bit offtopic. I somewhat agree that teenagers use swears too much, but whatever.

your article was the equivalent of a circumcized porcupine

The only thing wrong with it is the lack of a percentage for when you need to stroke it.

Pretty sure jagex sees SMD as suck my [bleep] - just saying.

"Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up, and shake off the existing government, and form a new one that suits them better. This is a most valuable - a most sacred right - a right, which we hope and believe, is to liberate the world."
