What if you are poor, like me, and end up buying armors and selling them for a bit more to make an extra profit?

It's the fact that some people need to make a profit in order to buy things they need. For instance, I buy up on runes in order to sell them when the prices get high. Why's that? Because I can make a profit. Who cares that I don't need them, especially in F2P it's hard to make a lot of money and finding a buy/sell method has always been the best way for me to personally make money. I'm sure P2P is a bit different, but if you want extra money in you're pocket, it's smart just to buy up on stuff you know will jump in price sooner or later. Kind of like real life. Sure I fish a lot and woodcut a lot for profit as well, but this is another easy way for a F2P person to make money.

In other words, it's another strategy to get money. I don't know how it can annoy you when it is really only an individual sort of thing. The prices going up and down could annoy you, but I don't see how the way people use that to make a profit could annoy anyone. Maybe it's the fact you hadn't thought of it before everyone else, but it's just another strategy to make a couple bucks.

It would seem fairly obvious why I'm insulting you.

1. It really doesn't effect you in a positive or negative way unless you are doing this.

2. It is another way to play the game. Some might consider it taking advantage of the GE, but it isn't that big of a deal.

And your statement also had nothing to do with the topic at hand. I believe, if it bothers you, it should have been made into a thread, not pull this topic into a completely different direction.

You have no reason to insult him. He should insult you instead, based on what you are saying.

Well, as I said, that's the exact problem with this game. Everyone treats items as something they can make profit off. In my opinion Jagex should make most higher level armours/weapons untradeable once you bought them. It would prevent other players from manipulating or "merching" those items, and would give us a more stable economy because, unless you've been living in a cave for the past half year, you should have noticed that runescapes economy is [bleeped] up.

Why did I say "merching"? Because merching died when GE entered this game. Before that you had merchants buying up small amounts of items/resources from other players, then selling those in bulk for profit. Nowadays you just put an offer in GE and watch the money flow in. You're even helped by GE graphs, which make it all so easy that any 5year old can "merch".

You think it's not a big deal? As I've said before, look at the rs economy, not hard to see that you're wrong. This game is based around money, not skills. In my opinion that's not what Jagex intended runescape to be like when they created it. Feel free to ignore everything I said, I honestly don't care.

I agree a lot with what you're saying about the economy, I'm just using the GE like a lot of folks to make money through buying up on stuff that'll go up in price. Yes the economy sucks, and sure the GE is a major contributor but unless Jagex bans selling stuff for higher prices later, or fixes the GE, poor people like me are going to use it to upgrade their armor and stuff. I do agree that a lot of higher level stuff should be untradeable, but I am just referring to smaller scale stuff like runes and mithral or adamant armor. I can see why you're complaining about higher tier stuff like god swords or expensive armors. I took it that you were complaining about everyone doing it, but if you're exclusively complaining on the fact that because of the buying and selling of expensive armor the economy is not being helped, I can see where you are coming from. My runes and armor I rarely am able to sell for five GP more. I merely meant that by buying up 1000 law runes from the money I made fishing, I would be able to easily sell them later when they go up five GP in price and make an extra 5K.

If you look, the F2P environment has always sucked and has always been based on using skills to get money, because it was the only way to make big bucks. As a F2Per, I never exactly have experienced this economy decline, just because most F2Pers have a hard time making money and so have to skill to do so. Since my major means of making money is fishing, I spend most of my time on Karmaja dock, but if I see an opportunity to make some extra money, however little it may be, I'll take it to put in the bank for some extra towards my god armor or whatever.

@ Ratchet: Actually, in F2P, fishing isn't as great of a moneymaker as it seems. Skills like mining (runite rocks) and runecrafting (air/water runes) are the skills that make BIG BUCKS.

Okay, on topic.

I don't really see how you got banned. Really, the only valid reason that you should be banned is if you are botting/rwting. If you said a bad word, harrassed someone, or whatever, what's the big fuss about that? The other guy should suck it up, not be a wanna-be mod and report it to Jagex. (If that guy's a p-mod, then he really shouldn't be so corrupt.)

The report abuse feature is already abused itself, rather ironically.

Yea, damn those wannabe-mods, and...be-mods, for actually enforcing the rules I agreed to abide by when I made my account. I should have the right to cuss and harass anyone I want without fear of punishment, just like real life! Fight da powa! [bleep] da police!

Yes, darn those wannabe mods for reporting you for swearing.. when it's against the rules. And reporting you for harrassing people... when it's against the rules. Oh god how I hate those wanna be mods and their rules and respect for said rules, they're just such total creeps for doing what a responsible player should do. I mean, it's not like they want to try and preserve some semblance of decorum on this game right? No , they just want a silver crown.

I do follow the runescape rules. As a matter of fact, I have 0 black marks on all my accounts. I'm just busy playing the game rather than reporting players for the pettiest reasons.

As a matter of fact, the player mods I've saw are all experienced high-levels (remember the high-level F2P I mentioned earlier?), or combat 3 skillers.

Most wanna-be mods are low-leveled noobs, as a matter of fact.

I, too, have 0 black marks on my accounts.

Quite frankly, I don't care :)

You obviously broke rules to get banned, Jagex don't ban for no reason... In the future, try obiding by the rules? :o

 You must be new to the game.

Why can't the Big Bang be done by the hand of God?

It could have, but it is next to impossible because it also could have been caused by the flying spaghetti monster, or one of the other infinite number of deity possibilities.
