skylor12344
I've noticed a lot of high lvl players with 99 defence choose the Toktz-Ket-Xil(obsidian shield) over the dragon sq shield. Is this purely because the toktz-ket-xil is cheaper or am i missed some hidden factor between the two?

Vulxai
The Toktz-ket-xil has a +5 strength bonus vs. the Dragon Sq.'s 0 strength bonus. ~ Proud Father ~ Proud (Currently Deployed) Army National Guardsmen ~ Proud Lakota ~ Retired Tip.It Crew ~

stonewall337
Also, the obsidian shield has a far superior range defense. That is quite handy at places like DKS, etc. [hide=Drops]Araxxor Eye x1 Leg pieces x2GWD: 5000 Addy bar Steam B Staff x3 Z Spear x6 Sara. SirIzenhime
D sq has better melee def Tz has better Range def, comes with a str bonus, and is A LOT cheaper. stonewall337
It really isn't a lot cheaper. Obsidian shield is ~130k and D Sq is ~300k. But for melee defense, D sq has better alternatives when defense is what matters. [hide=Drops]Araxxor Eye x1 Leg pieces x2GWD: 5000 Addy bar Steam B Staff x3 Z Spear x6 Sara. But for melee defense, D sq has better alternatives when defense is what matters. Which makes it odd why people pick the obby shield over the rune defender when offensive bonuses are needed. Finding a middle ground is usually a not worthwhile practice. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug

The +2 strength is USELESS compared to the +20 slash of a defender. [hide=Drops]Araxxor Eye x1 Leg pieces x2GWD: 5000 Addy bar Steam B Staff x3 Z Spear x6 Sara. SirIzenhime
the DFS vs Defender depends on what you're fighting I think, there are some monsters where you really need that extra def, but for just simple basic training, defender is almost always better.
