squidsquash
So I finally got 70 mage to use the black sally, and I want to know what a good setup/invy for barrows is, and I have a few questions. Is a spirit terrorbird worth taking? If so, should I bring 1-2 summ pots and an extra pouch? And should I use scrolls to help me get through the swamp without losing too much? Also, if I cant afford the veracs helm to go with the rest of the set, should I use Neitz helm for def bonuses or prossy helm for pray bonuses? How much harralander tar should I be bringing with me? And are there any tips and tricks I should know? TY :)
TheKoolKandy
First of you can't bring familiars to the barrows area so you wont have to worry about that. A neit helm should work just fine if your low on money thats what I use alot of the time. And lastly just bring a few thousand harralander tar because they're not that exspensive and you can sell back any supplies you have left over. Slayer; it's just what I do.Thanks Hugger 88 for the awesome siggy!Click show if you want to see achievements.Achievments: Maxed/Comp'd 7th of August 2012. 120 Dungeoneering sometime early december 2011. 99 Slayer achieved October 22nd, 2010. 99 Prayer achieved September 99 18th 2010. narnarkille2
Stick with a neitz helm, it's better than prossy. I usually use between 50-75 tar per chest, so you shouldn't need too many; they're easy to buy anyway. As for tricks, there aren't many with a black sally, seeing as you can't safespot the brothers unless you freeze/snare them. The only tip I can really give is if you have a dharok/karil tunnel, get to the chest as fast as you can and if they spawn on the way, ignore them. That'll give you time to pot/eat before having to fight them. Otherwise, good luck!
angel13
You'll be fine, whenever i make a run it costs me no more than 6 doses of prayer potions and 5 monkfish. This is what I usually take.[spoiler=Equipment and Inventory] Feel free to replace anything for something cheaper; The whip is for Karil, I find it to be faster at killing him than the sally and less wasteful for the crypt monsters. Mio
A inventory I use while barrowing with sally's is: 8 Prayer Potions6 Stat Restore Potions12 Saradomin BrewsSpadeQuick Teleport Out Using that invetory can allow me to do 3-6 Loots per trip.. Remember, if you're going to use this invent bring enough tars aswell. :)
Codguy
My suggestion, trying out a method similar to that of which has already been posted, and test things out. You'll learn what to bring, what not to bring, etc. And the more experience at it you get, the more you'll be able to figure out how to minimize your supplies for each chest. However, a great way to use a Black Salamander at Barrows, which is what I do, is to Barrage (or some sort of freezing/snaring spell) the MELEE brothers, and stand diagonally from them, and you'll be able to attack them without being attacked back. A great way to reduce prayer and food consumption. I usually end up doing 9 chests on 2 prayer pots and ~10 pizzas. I could do more, but, meh. Anyways, good luck with Barrowing, it's a lot of fun :D try things out, and adjust to your preference.
