new slayer equipment

Does the new slayer equipment provide an accuracy bonus and an increase in damage like the black mask? I've trawled the KB and I cant seem to find it and the news article says it provides a similar bonus to the black mask. Does it just add a +3 attack bonus to range and mage for the slayer helm?

It doesnt outright say it anywhere. But the fact they are said to be like the black mask and peoples reports of them being v gd. Alongside the fact Jagex said in a QA a while back they'd be giving Mages and Rangers a black mask equivilent AND that they can be added to slayer helm all implies they give some sort of % bonus

the hexcrest gives the 15% boost like the black mask does only it gives it for Range and Mage instead of Attack and Strength. Im not sure about the staff of light however as i havent seen it yet nor do i have any idea whats so special over than its high prices.

thanks i hate it when they infer there is some bonus is using it but dont state the bonus, one of the reasons why i never use a wealth.

hehe yea, the Hexcrest is also the final peice to the "full slayer helm" basically making it the ultimate helm for slayer no matter whether you are maging,ranging, or meleeing ur tasks.

hexcrest is the magic one and the focus (can't remember the last bit of its name) is the ranging one.

As soon as I buy or get one tonight I'll post back.

Yeah a few people on this thread are talking crud.

 

The hexcrest does NOT give any sort of range boost.

 

the Hexcrest is purely for magic.

The Focus of Sight gives the range boost.

 

Also BOTH the hexcrest and focus of sight are needed to complete the slayer helm

Well im sorry i dont have all the info on it paw claw considering it just came out yesterday and havent gotten them task yet. I didnt know there was 2 diffrent ones the info i gave was only what i've heard from friends but i guess ill stop trying to give out info unles i've experienced it myself.

But the news post and KB both CLEARLY state there is the hexcrest AND focus sight for mage and range respectively, and that both are required to make the helm. So it is just sheer laziness and plain unhelpful to give information that utterly contradicts known facts from the news and KB.

Calm down guys...it's not THAT important....

 

Basically, they're like the slayer mask, just for range and mage. Focus band is for range, hexcrest is for magic.

 

The new staff (staff of light), has I "THINK" a +17 magic bonus, has a 15% magic damage, and also has a 1/8 chance to save ANY runes you are using (Only for combat spells). This rune saving effect CAN be combined with the Fist Of Guthix robes, for a chance of saving runes 1/2 of the time.

That staff is quite the purty thing. What's her name? :lol:

 

Anyway, another pretty large selling feature for the staff is that it's spec block half of all melee damage for the next minute (Uses half bar). I'd imagine it'd be most useful for straight up mages in PvP, but I'm sure there are many potential PvM possibilities.

Not tried melee with it, its called the staff of light
