Computer wont boot up

Featured Replies

a couple of days ago my copmuter decided it didnt want to work and now just restarts over and over. It gets to the Windows XP screen, where it should load and then just restarts again. About a month ago, i had someone over and she clicked on an ad on some website. Since then my copmuter has been infected with viruses that i cant get rid of. They just keep coming, each virus scan comes up with about 5 viruses.

I dont know what is wrong with my computer, im thinking the viruses just got to it and completly messed it up. When i go to the BIOS settings, or the boot menue, i cant change any settings, it wont let me. Im not sure whats wrong with my copmuter, or if i can fix it. Does anyone have an idea on what i can do?

Hit F8 when its booting up.

Select disable auto reboot on fatal system error.

Note down the stop code and see if its the same as the one caused by the update tiigon mentioned if not google the stop code otherwise follow the instructions tiigon posted..

Some people are saying that the update won't always cause that problem, it only happens if your computer was already infected.
