Mousekeys on a Mac?

Featured Replies

I here that mousekeys are very useful. I've heard something about prayer switching at Jad being easier, cleaning herbs, etc. Can you tell me how to do this on a mac?

Thanks for any help.

By default, your f-keys are preassigned to certain functions like volume control, brightness control, etc. To switch to the regular use of f-keys, hold down the "fn" key on your keyboard and then press the f-key that you wish to use. However, there are certain f-keys that are assigned STILL (f9-f11). To remove these assignments so you can use these keys on RuneScape, go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts and then uncheck the assignments.

Once you make these changes, I believe it should be exactly the same as using mousekeys on Windows.

If you want to make it so that you do not have to hold down the "fn" key to use the f-key mousekeys, go to System Preferences > Keyboard and then check "Use all F1, F1, etc. keys as standard function keys." Then you will not have to hold down "fn" to use the mousekeys on RuneScape, but instead you will have to hold down "fn" to make changes to volume, brightness and other options that are set by default as the f-keys.

I use Steermouse to assign functions to different buttons for each application. For instance, in Safari my third button uses the command "⌘[" which goes back one page, but in Firefox I have it assigned to a function key which, in Runescape, switches to my inventory. Fifteen day trial, however.

You could use Intellipoint, which controls Microsoft mice or the Logitech Control Center. Neither are as functional as Steermouse, but they are also free.
