schmuall
So a (very) long term goal of mine has been to aquire the elusive quest cape. 99's don't particularly interest me (at the moment) and it's something I actually respect. Unfortunately my levels are pretty lacking. I'm listing my current levels and the required levels in the skills I need to train as well as potential training methods. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance. AGILITY Currently: 68 Required: 69 Rocking out quest reward will get me there CONSTRUCTION Currently: 54 Required: 60 I think I used to do oak larders for this. Is it still the best way? HUNTER Currently: 63 Required: 65 Currently doing red sallys, should I switch to red chins? CRAFTING Currently: 62 Required: 66 Don't have a clue how to train this, did all my training in f2p. I might just get an extra mage level and do super glass make spell because I do need the mage xp as well.completed HERBLORE Currently: 62 Required: 65 I've been making harralander tars and sup atts to train this. Pretty sure that's the best method without burning too much cash SMITHING Currently: 65 Required 69 I made iron knives for this, but my god that was slow. Was nice to profit by selling with junk but I've run out. Any good ideas?Completed WOODCUTTING Currently: 73 Required: 75 Not sure about ivy xp rates and whether they're better than say willows at my low level but I'll probably just borrow a d hatchet and whack away for itCompleted FARMING Currently: 63 Required: 65 Pretty much got this covered with tree runs Thanks for reading this long post. (Ps. I do know about the boosts I can use for some of the requirements though I would prefer not to as I'll have to train them eventually so might as well do it now, also I don't think any of the levels are particularly high (unlike those for certain diaries I've had to do)) give F2P a penny and they want a dime; give P2P a quarter, they want 100,000 dollars, your car, house, boat, social security number, credit card numbers, drivers license, clothes on your back and everything you ever owned or interacted with ever
atronic92
AGILITYCurrently: 63Required: 69Not one of my favourite skills but the Wilderness arena is pretty decent xp and the threat of revs stops it getting boring. Any other places with better xp? The Wilderness Course is the fastest one for these levels. CONSTRUCTIONCurrently: 54Required: 60I think I used to do oak larders for this. Is it still the best way? Oak Larders are still the best for these levels. HUNTERCurrently: 57Required: 65I used to do falconry for this but I'm sure there's got to be a better method. Anyone know? Orange Salamanders until you can do Red Salamanders, and then Red Salamanders until 65. CRAFTINGCurrently: 62Required: 66Don't have a clue how to train this, did all my training in f2p. I might just get an extra mage level and do super glass make spell because I do need the mage xp as well. That's one option. The fastest way from 63-66 would be green dragonhide bodies. I suggest buying hides on the G.E. and tanning them, then crafting them on the way back to the bank. Then you can sell the bodies on the G.E. You could do the same thing with green dragonhide chaps from 62-63, but the chaps might not sell on the G.E. so you might have to alch them. HERBLORECurrently: 60 Required: 65I've been making harralander tars and sup atts to train this. Pretty sure that's the best method without burning too much cash. I suggest training this in conjunction with farming. See notes on farming. SMITHINGCurrently: 65Required 69I made iron knives for this, but my god that was slow. Was nice to profit by selling with junk but I've run out. Any good ideas? Mith bolts. It will cost some, but is easily AFKable. You can balance the cost by doing 3/4 mith bolts and 1/4 cannonballs. WOODCUTTINGCurrently: 73Required: 75Not sure about ivy xp rates and whether they're better than say willows at my low level but I'll probably just borrow a d hatchet and whack away for it. Ivy. Few hours, max. FARMINGCurrently: 54Required: 65Now this is the big one. I've read the guides (zaaps one looks particularly good) but am still pretty clueless. I want to train this at the same time as everything else. Anything in particular to farm, or will just herbs be enough to get me there in the time it will take to train everything else. Zaap's guide is really helpful. Make herb runs of the highest herb that you can both farm and make potions with. Kwuarms should take you most of the way. Also grow Limpwurt roots, to use with your Kwuarms to make super strength potions. Once you can grow whiteberries, grow them! If you have any Papaya, Pineapple, or Curry Tree seeds, grow those. After that, grow Orange Trees since they have a very good price/XP ratio. You should make a lot of money farming, so buy 5 or 10 yew trees to get there faster. Remember to make pineapple runs for supercompost and all that. "We will certainly not be gaining money or members with this update. Instead, we are doing this for the good of the game, which is as dear to our hearts as it is to you."- JAGEX, December 13, 2007
Aiel
also, dont forget boosters! you can boost all the stats for WGS :D DK drops (solo/LS): 66 hatchets, 14 archer rings, 13 berserker rings, 17 warrior rings, 12 seerculls, 13 mud staves, 7 seers ringsQBD drops: 1 kite, 2 visages, 4 dragonbone kits, 3 effigies, lots of crossbow partsCR vs. CLS threads always turn into discussions about penis size....It's not called a Compensation Longsword for nothing.I've sent a 12k combat mission to have Aiel assassinated (poor bastard isn't even Pincers-tier difficulty). Saunamajuri
also, dont forget boosters! you can boost all the stats for WGS :DThis, I boosted my magic from 71 to 75 and herblore from 63 to 65. Zybez quest guide shows what requirements can be boosted and what not. I only know for certain that Within the light reqs cannot be boosted. Had to get 15 levels for range, but as you can see from my sig, im only 1 level away. "An Amateur practices until he can get it right. A Professional practices until he can't get it wrong." Quests just keep bringing me back to this game.
Sinkhan
In regards to farming, fruit trees all the way!!! Orange trees FTW. Herbs a nice source of income, but won't level you quickly. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
Ezkaton
Agility is obviously Wildy course..... Maybe Brimmy if you have time to kill, but if you want it ASAP then Wildy all the way. Get 75 at Wildy if you feel like it. It means that when MEP3 comes out you'll have high enough agility that should you need to train it you can do it at Ape Toll without failing. Construction is Oak Larders..... I'm considering getting my Cons up too to 60. Hunter: Red Salamanders, hands down. *I've forgotten your stats now whilst I'm writing this* If you can summon an Arctic Bear then do so. According to Valuxi you can get about 70K exp/hr Crafting: I'd say the same as Atronic..... Don't forget to use your Varrock stuff to get the max Bstaves from Zaff per day and make them into Air or something. Herblore: Definitely super attacks and super energy potions are the least cost. If you want to reduce it further then make sure you do MTK with 10 on Herbs and 5 on Fish. The fish pay for the 2nds you need for the pots, and if you slay, the amount of sup attacks, strs, and prays you can make makes slayer an extremely self sufficient and profitable skill. Smithing: Mith bolts are the cheapest, maybe go onto plates when you can for the faster exp...... But if you want smithing high go with Mith bolts/tips, then addy bolts when you can, then addy tips. WC: Atronic got this perfect. Ivy will take you a few AFK hours. Farming: This is up to you. I personally dislike the skill a bit because of the running so I only do trees and fruit trees. You can do 2 tree runs maybe 3 (depending on how much of an insane/insomniac of a person you are) and 1 fruit tree a day. This makes the exp go like crazy. I'm currently thinking of going for 70 to get the Varrock diary, but I've slowed down as slayer is taking all of my time recently. Herbs if you have the patience. Other than that farming is a money drain, but it's alright. Don't forget you can boost stats to start some quests like WGS; however I wouldn't advise this as by the time the squeal to the quest is released you'll need that stat and higher. Also Penguins every week give some good exp.And for alot of the skills you can make it go much more faster with the help of SC tools. Smithing will go mega quick with hammers; so will Cons. Crafting with the needle, and wc with the hatchets. It'll take you half the time, and save you atleast half of your money when it comes to smithing etc. Good Luck on a cape that's now got the respect it deserves :) Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.2672nd person to reach 2496 total. Thanks to Wicked for the awesome siggy :D
Arieondor
Nothing really left to be said... but I will just throw a couple of other options out there: Smithing: Making Gold Bars (with Gold-Smithing Gauntlets of course)Crafting: Using those gold bars to make Emerald Rings Depending on the market you might profit, you might not. If anything it would be a pretty minimal loss, and you could always enchant the rings to make them into Rings of Dueling! Hunter: Swamp Lizards Those rake in 1.3k each for those low leveled creatures... it's a good way to make some quick money while providing very decent xp. Good Luck with your Quest cape! That is also one of my goals
