Pfft. Save the blocks for monsters worth blocking, like black deamons.

Pfft. Save the blocks for monsters worth blocking, like Hellhounds/Kalphites.

But that is my list! :P

Steels

Kalphites

Hellhounds

Black Deamons

(in that order)

Anyways back on topic: as said they are reaaally weak, only have huge hitpoints: thus a lot of slayer/combat experience from killing them.

Mining is indeed nice: you'll get some decent-fast-profitable mining experience along the way. (1 or 2 hit them most of the time at 73 mining with a d pickaxe)

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

It's true they are a slow task, but you can get over 50k slayer xp from one task of them, so yes overall the task takes a longer time, but per hour xp is not necessarily lower. Also they are a rare assignment I've only ever had them twice (I've had more strykewyrm tasks than LRC tasks). Not worth blocking imo

Whip+defender does fine. I've tried using crush weapons, didn't notice too big of a difference, then again my attack level is slightly higher than yours (at the time I was 92/93 att)

Plus if you mine the minerals, you can add like 200-400k gp and a couple thousand mining xp per task

Protip: They spawn much faster if you have 73 mining and mine them.

I found a spot with 3 spawns right next to each other, and as long as I remember to mine them, there's no waiting time between kills.

If you have 73 mining, keep the task and use whip+defender.

If you don't have 73 mining, skip/block them.

If you mine them you get worse exp/hr and would be better off just skipping the task.

Even at my mining level I 1-hit them over half the time, so I'm barely wasting any time mining them.

I agree that they are a slow task, but the exp is nice so I don't skip them.

The above poster has this correct.

However if you want to spend a couple of hours getting shoddy kills per minute and wishing you had blocked them (like yours truly here) then:

Rune defender and Whip = better, and speed it up by cannoning and potting..... though cannon deals with them easy enough.

Just try not to slit your wrists with the boredom of their respawn rate.

I found they respawn much faster if you mine their remains, but still block em.
