85-99 fletch

Featured Replies

So im currently getting 85 fletching and i would like to know which of the following is fastest to 99 and how much each method costs.

Adamant Bolts from 85-99

Mithril bolts from 85-99

Magic Longbows from 85-99

Its simple math. Figure out how many bolts/bows you need to make. Figure out how many bars/logs its going to cost. Then figure out how much you will get back after selling the bows or bolts.

Making bolts might be faster, but are also click intensive while making bows are quite easier and more afk-able.

OK...after some math...this is what I cam up with.

If you did mage long methods, the materials for it would cost 194,134,468gp. That many strung mage longs would sell for 141,321,85gp. Total net gain of -52,812,683gp

Mith bolts was intresting...

The materials would cost 206,069,900gp, and them with feathers would sell for 206,069,900gp. You would break even, but it would be hard to sell 2.06mill bolts at once.

Addy bolts was slightly different...

Materials would cost 354,734,648gp and that number of bolts with feathers would sell for 323,824,160gp Net profit of -30,910,488.

If I was you...look into yew longs. Thats what I did for 99 fletch and I made money off of that. (I dont know if you can now but look into it)

I haven't fletched in several years so I'm not too sure on speed... but I'll try to remember as accurately as I can.

XP from 85-99: 9,775,837

In order from slowest to fastest:

Yew Longbows: 1100 per hour

65,173 bows to make

59.2 hours

-1,466k gp

Broad Bolts: 60,000 per hour (mousekeys)

3,258,613 bolts to make

54.3 hours

+81,465k gp

Magic Longbows: 1100 per hour

53,420 bows to make

48.5 hours

-15,836k gp

Mithril Bolts: 60,000 per hour (mousekeys)

1,955,168 bolts to make

32.5 hours

-1,955k gp

Adamant Bolts: 60,000 per hour (mousekeys)

1,396,549 bolts to make

23.2 hours

-34,899k gp

Hourly income required for Broad Bolts to be efficient: 0gp

Hourly income required for Magic Longbows to be efficient: 16.7m

Hourly income required for Mithril Bolts to be efficient: 3.8m

Hourly income required for Adamant Bolts to be efficient: 3.7m

Chances are broad bolts will be your best choice.

One thing to add would be that stringing bows is faster then cutting logs into unstrung bows. It's also much cheaper to go from Unstrung bow -> Strung Bow then it is from Uncut Log -> Strungbow

this is, however, assuming you're not using SC knives to cut the logs.

I personally made Yew Longbows from Yuew Longbows(u), since they were profitable at the time (might still be, just to lazy to check).

Just string Yew longbows was around 130k xp an hour for me.

Would you mind explaining how you make 60k bolts in an hour? (not saying your wrong, I honestly want to know out of curiousity :P)

I'm not too sure on the times. I seem to recall making 1.1k strung bows from log and bowstring to strung bow. One could break this down further to separate stringing and cutting, but I don't have enough data to do that.

60k is with Mousekeys. I wrote that right after I wrote 60k/h...

+, 4, +, 6. Repeat ad nauseum.

I have no idea what that really means though...which is why I asked.

Now I know what mouse keys are, but how do you use them to make 60k bolts an hour.

just putting number keys doesn't explain anything...

I am reading completely. But I find it hard to beleive that just pressing 3 buttons over and over again will magically make bolts happen. Do they have to be in certain spots in the iventory? Are there any mouse movements involved? Try writing answers assuming the person you're answer knows NOTHING about this...which is the case here....

I know what mouse keys are

You said you knew what mousekeys are. If that was true you'd easily understand the significance of +, 4, +, 6.

I think there's an AOW guide on mousekeys.

EDIT: Found it: http://forum.tip.it/topic/214703-wakkas-mousekeys-guide-learn-to-drop-twice-as-fast/

I know what mousekeys are...as in it makes it so you can do mouse strokes using the number pad, but that is the limite of my knowledge of them.....a little explanation is all I asked for, apperently that's too much though. Don't bother trying again please.

So with say 15m is it possible to get from 85 to 99 doing mage longs?

So im currently getting 85 fletching and i would like to know which of the following is fastest to 99 and how much each method costs.

Adamant Bolts from 85-99

Mithril bolts from 85-99

Magic Longbows from 85-99

Fletch Yew longs.

I don't know how much you need, but start off with 10K yew logs, then buy (if you want it to happen faster) 10K bow string, or 10K flax (takes longer), then cut the yew into yew longbow (u) then either attach bowstring or spin flax into bowstring and make yew longbows. If you buy 10K yew logs and 10K flax, you actually make profit. I am doing it right now and i bought 5K supplies (2.5K flax, 2.5K bowstrings) and i SHOULD break even or profit, i won't lose money \:D/

And when you make them all, if you end up losing money to sell them, wait again till the longbows go up in price. :)

Good luck :)
