March 19, 201016 yr What are efficient methods for getting smithing from 70 to 80? I would like to lose as little as possible, while not making cannonballs- and I am willing to get stealing creation hammers. I'd just like some good ideas; it's been a while since I've seriously trained smithing.
March 19, 201016 yr Superheat mith/addy would have extremely low loss and sometimes a gain. But its only around 30-37.5k xp/hr depending if you do mith or addy. See guide in sig for exact profits/losses. 1,000 F2P Total Level Reached 10/8/10 ! March 19, 201016 yr When I was getting to the smithing level I am now I found that mith tips until addy bolts, then addy bolts until addy tips makes the least loss with SC. Smithing This link here should show you the cheapest thing to make with 1 bar. You can look up the other bars if you wish :) However, the prices are extremely bad at the moment as addy bars rocketed during the xp weekend >.< So maybe look at a different method perhaps unless you're willing to spend a little money. IMO smithing > other skills ;) And sooner or later there will be a new high level smithing update, I'm positive about it. Reacting impulsively and saying what's on your mind feels oh so good.. for a little, until you realize you just started WWIII.2672nd person to reach 2496 total. Thanks to Wicked for the awesome siggy :D
March 19, 201016 yr Author sooner or later there will be a new high level smithing update, I'm positive about it.That's a reason I'm looking to train it. It's a skill that's dying for an update, and I want to be able to benefit from it when it happens. Also, I want to be able to make class 5 tools in stealing creation.
March 19, 201016 yr I superheated addy from 70-80 and then I used iron bars -> pl8s for 80-85. It took me a while, but the mage EXP I got from it was well worth it. I'm not sure on exact numbers, but superheat often rivals alching for mage exp with the bonus of smithing exp. If you're going to superheat and are not in a hurry to get the levels, watch the GE charts closly and chose the best time to buy the ores. Doing this I was able to profit quite a bit when superheating. This was pre-inflation however so I'm not sure about current prices. If you are planning on buying the bars, here's how many you'll need and the price (assuming starting exactly at 70 and ending right at 80).49,923 Iron @ 390 gp each ===19.5M -10000 platebodies @ 200 gp each ======== 17.5M loss33,282 Steel @ 1k each ===== 33.3M - 6650 platebodies @ 1050 gp each ======= 26.3M loss24,962 Mithril @ 1600 each === 40.0M - 5000 platebodies @ 3000 gp each ======= 25.0M lossI used the 'stable price' that I forsee you being able to buy / sell at considering the markets are still a bit off after the exp weekend. If you use SC Hammers you can just divide those bars needed, plates made, and losses losses by 2 to figure out for SC tools.
