Make magic cheaper

ghjkl

Recommended Posts

The only reason magic isn't used as much as other methods is because of how expensive it is. If all runes gained from rcing and drops are multiplied by 5x, and all current runes in everyone's bank is multiplied by 5x, magic will be as cheap as melee. 1k a cast for fire surge is ridiculous. 200gp per cast is about the same as using diamond bolts ranging. On PVP worlds, 3x runes will be required to cast spells.

Trust me when I say cost is only a tiny issue in PvM, you save roughly 65% of the cost in runes with SoL and battlerobes anyway.

Magic is cheap as heck if you do it right.

i think he means using it as a main combat style is expensive, not leveling it as a skill - Which can even turn a profit

no, the problem here is that the op is poor, or a spendthrift

magic's issue is not cost, but power [in pvp, at least]

One problem with making more runes is that RCers will QQ, but if the price drops drastically then the demand should go up and everything would settle back to where it was. Problem is nobody knows how the rune prices are going to go.

Quantity demanded would increase, but the demand will remain the same. Its unclear the elasticity in demand of runes, i.e. how flat the curve in demand is. There might be an inverse relationship between price and demand, but its definitely not one-to-one.

I really don't think that it needs to be made cheaper... even if it is more expensive than other skills, it's also a heck of a lot more effective.
