purekilljoy
sorry for topic crashing. But what kind of effect do they have on herbs then? I've herb farmed my way from 30 to 55, and never used them once. What do they do then?
Mischlings
They increase the yield by 10%. (This next part I'm not 100% sure on) I think that means it has a 10% chance, every herb you pick, of giving another. If it just meant that it gives you one extra herb per 10, then it wouldn't make a difference since it's rare to get 10 herbs from one patch at once, so I think it works off of probability, like everything else in RuneScape. If you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.
Sinkhan
I was always just under the impression that patches had a predetermined number of herbs in them once fully grown and using the secateurs just added +10% to that number rounded up. It's hard to say, but I'd guess that it at most grants one extra herb. Something to fill my sig with until I find a replacement. Also check out my blug
