But I was wondering, is a demon butler better? better as in faster, I don't care about the 5k extra charge, because since I'm training construction, butler costs are the least of my worries. Or is he too fast? I usually find that the regular butler is better, he comes at the perfect time. wioneo Posted March 29, 2010 Share Posted March 29, 2010 No, the human butler is far better because it brings you exactly 20 planks as opposed to 26(unless you manually type 20, I preferr to randomly hit 3 integers). With the demon you end up using multiple interactions to get your planks because you are using 20 while being supplied with 26, and sometimes due to some glitch the excess planks will be returned to the bank. Also it is better to bring noted planks with you and have them unnoted than to just ask for withdrawal as you can just use the planks on the butler. For that last part actually try it yourself I have not trained construction in a long time. EDIT: Also, yes he is too fast and will interrupt your build menu when he arrives unless they have changed that in the last...year? Grimy_Bunyip Posted March 29, 2010 Share Posted March 29, 2010 demon butler is only nice if you're using oak logs and paying the demon butler to take the logs to the lumberyard for you demon butler + noted oak logs is a bit slower than the butler + noted plank method, but you do save a little money. it's 600 gp/plank after you factor in the cost of a butler to do the butler + noted plank methodvs 460k gp/plank for the demon butler + noted oak logs method it's even cheaper still to use a plain butler + noted oak logs but then you're xp rate will be essentially halved for that savings.Whereas a demon butler can do the same with only slight xp rate losses.
