Right click desktop, click properties, choose settings, click on greyed out monitor icon, click checkbox "extend desktop onto this monitor". You'll need to get a card with 2 display ports, shouldn't be that expensive if you only want it for dual screens. For $80 you should get a card capable of dual screens with ease. Most motherboards (80% at a guess) won't let you use the integrated graphics at the same time as having a dedicated graphics card plugged in, and even then it normally means having to change something in the BIOS settings. I assume it's because they're simply built that way. PCI cards can't really handle much, you're probably better off getting a motherboard with a PCI Express x16 slot, then putting in a graphics card that can handle two monitors at the same time.
