For those wondering, you get about 150k Exp per hour Stringing Gold ammies and it costs about 50M to get 80-99 Mage.

Grats, its what I did for 99 Magic. Except I did the last 60k ammies using Holy Symbols because golds wouldn't buy, cost me alot more :(

Its a nice 99 to have though :)

Magic is a skill I've wanted to get high level in, but I'm struggling to find a good way to train it to 99.

 

Also, I don't have much money from rares, god wars or anything of the sort. Should I go down to Tormented Demons, get about 5-10 Dragon Claws, sell them on GE, and use that money to buy my way to 99 Magic?

 

I'm perhaps the poorest guy for my level as is.

Well you could do that and/or you could try merching. There's a link in my siggy to a Merching guide I wrote. It even has a spreadsheet updated from rs database that tells good buy and sell prices for good flipping items.

I never fared well with merchanting. I tried to tinker around a bit with Abyssal Whips, Bandos Armor and Saradomin Swords, but I didn't make a profit. I lost profit.

 

Just the other day I tried to buy a Whip at max price and I didn't get anything for several hours.

you get 4exp per ammy. I went from just below 81 crafting to 22k below 83 crafting what all was said and done.
