optimal set-up for chaos dwogres?

I'm seeing guthans as useful, but some people also take mage def and some don't. any info helpful. inventories too

They do not attack with magic unless you stand at a distance. Their melee attack is quite accurate, though; some say it is magic-based but I haven't tested that. I had best success using prayer gear and trying to fight them when they were going after the black guard.

I really suggest you use range prayer there. This is because one time I went there after agression stopped and I attacked Dwogres cannoneers start swarming attacking you. Their hits are not really accurate but is very deadly as they hit I believe in the high 40's or something like that and with about 5 of them on you like that you sorta need prayer

The cannoneers do not retaliate if you only go after the dwogres and none of the other dwarves. (Well, I had it happen once, so I just left the cave and came back and it stopped.)

They don't hit me very often when I wear void, so it seems like it might be mage based.

Void gives defence to all stats.

The point is that the dwogres hit far less often with void than they do with melee gear. Thus, it would seem that the dwogres use a magic-based attack, seeing as how void has much more magic defense than melee gear does.
