i always been big on barrows, helps having decent luck there anyway. late last year a friend challenged me to obtain a 100m barrows collection through drops (i'm big on collections) prices at the time meant it wasn't going to be that tough, anyway this is how i left it in january, worth about 65m or something. of course i come back from a break in october and the same collection is worth 23m. interesting, but it just means i have to get more stuff which is fine. Took some time to get the quests done and got the akrisae pictured in about 50 runs, which also netted a dh helm and top. the runes are an accumulation of about a billion years of barrowing as you can guess that lot's only about 30m, the real thing i'm pleased with is that i feel i've finally perfected my barrows set up, which covers everything and causes dart to max at about 32 (apparently). It helps having loads of extr mage pots after 99 herb too. I guess changing the armour for bandos wouldn't hurt but it's ugly (and the shield is crap) This challenge has a personal aspect; the friend who set it for me is a Bahraini citizen, and if you follow current affairs to any degree you'll know living in Bahrain at the moment is far from fun. I don't hear from him much either which always makes me worry, so continuing this task is important to me even when i play so little. scape on!

well i was going to make a topic when i got 2100 total but my p2p is gone in two days and i can't be bothered with it. going to get off the game for what i hope is for good, so here i am 7 years of whatever [hide=stats][/hide] [hide=bank] as usual, nothing is bought everything is obtained. the slayer stuff is since like level 80. part of the reason i can't keep playing is my inability to generate any more bank space! Just out of curiosity how long did it take you to collect 2.7m tokul. well it's about 60k tokkul per hour. really gives you a headache though

I wasn't even attacking this guy (he was a level 90 odd), all of sudden his stuff appears beneath him, so I run over and grab what I can :S I think its not just wildy but everywhere, ill plop a rune full down in edge bank and see what happens edit; looks like wildy only, either that or nobody likes free rune full helms I see, well I suppose it makes sense, just means that someone can stop who they are fighting from getting the drop. also means you can distract people by dropping stuff around

Can anyone explain to me why any of these were necessary? Just because gravestones stop working in the wilderness doesn't mean that everywhere else needs to be incredibly safe. because items will drop to other people when the grave is gone, therefore people will be less inclined to bless, therefore players get a bit of a better chance to get their stuff back. still silly though

if you mean what i saw to make me think botting was worse, it was people ess mining in varrock. loads and loads of people making the same movements. granted, some will be actual people quietly getting on with it but it didn't half make me think of the times when level threes swarmed the place back in '06-07 etc. plus various people on IRC channels i frequent constantly boasting about getting away with it since '09, honestly i'll be surprised if jagex can or will do anything impressive - because I know people with 20m+ hunter and runecraft xp who are still playing with not even a warning. I've been off for a while now, haven't read the news for months which is a first because usually I still read it even if I'm not playing. Anyway, it was quite a surprise to see them resurrecting some old things but also seems pretty brainless. But I still want to play again, so a few questions: 1) what is the general consensus among the intelligent community (i.e not rsof) about the wildy etc. and are they doing it because sub/player numbers have dropped as some of my friends have suggested? can they really kill off botting? It was instantly obvious to me when I logged into the game how much worse it has gotten since summer '10 when I was last playing. 2) how does damage soaking work; is it a big thing now? 3) what happened to mechscape - i remember it being cancelled or restarted or something 4) does the old objective/summoning button have a different use now? (at the bottom left of the interface) or a planned use?

:cry: I still maintain to this day the best game I've ever played was runescape 2005-2007. And that applies to all aspects of the game really - although that's another discussion - it's sad that jagex won't really acknowledge the past.

I think a lot of the problem was the upheaval and periods of discontent after it finally sunk in that old wild was gone. A lot of old names quit, and with them something died. In the craters/early pvp, people just didn't care anymore, they just wanted to pk whatever they could. And now, as things have settled, yes, there are players that people look up to, but it's not really the same. To me, it just feels that there is no respect left, and if you go to w18 and see the flaming and rubbish fights you'll agree with me. most people these days prefer to flame and harass well known pkers instead of respecting them and looking up to them. In fact, there's little left in PKing that interests me anymore. What else can match voltago knocking people around at the mage bank, whilst wearing full third age. Or cali ice, running from MB to edge with a santa hat on her head and AG on her back. Or exiled - small, incredibly talented, coming out of nowhere and dominating drags. And yeah, bwuk was good, but it appears he's gone now too. indeed. like i said, i think it's all the unrest and people leaving over the bh crater years. when jagex removed the wild they didn't exactly consider (or didn't care) about the community they were about to destroy. People whine about the old times too much, but I tend to agree - I miss that game so much - but it's over, it's sad, but that's life. "all I have left now are my pk videos"
