Kazakhia's diplomatic deal with The Gambia has been a success! Starting in 2020, we will provide them with 500 million a year in funding, and provide 10,000 'Peace Officers', and in return, they will allow us to build a naval base on the mouth of the Gambia River. They will become a colony of Kazakhia, but retain their own government (however, a Kazakhian minister will oversee government activities). This will take a .01 infra hit on us, because they are an incredibly tiny country, and are not being fully taken over.

 

For those of you going "Where the %@#& is The Gambia, its the tiny river country completely surrounded by Senegal.

Doesn't that sort of imply that it is landlocked...

It's basically the strip of land around the Gambia River, so it's surrounded by Senegal on three sides, excluding the western part, which is next to ocean.

I am still thinking about Infrastructure, I am more and more convinced that it should be different...

Maybe raise faster, but i like that it doesn't take place for 20 years, otherwise hex could just say "all my money goes to infrastructure, my IAG is the same"

I am thinking of linking Infrastructure to cities. I don't want to scare people with details so I will keep a lid on it, pm me if you are curious though, I could use a sounding board.

Well it would be linking cities and Infrastructure together somehow, so if you expanded too fast your infrastructure would shrink.

Yeah, you get its IAG if you conquer it fully, or some denomination if you don't.

Yeah, if you use the troops already deployed it doesn't cost anything either.

I thought if you took over another country your Infrastructure is averaged to the two scores.

Yeah, that works fine, but breaking up a player country has mildly screwed the system, so we need a slight rethink.

No, from my understanding, whatever we spent on infra this budget doesn't affect our IAGs till 2030.

 

I don't like a city system, for one reason. Ireland has less cities than somalia. Cities are a decent way to split IAGs among conquerors, but not for actually determining it.

So that things have a total value, which is then divided equally between all the cities...So losing A city means losing X amount of Infrastructure.

Similar to the way IAG is worked out in your system.

I know that its only 2017 or something. Archi said that our infra. levels are updated after our IAGs. That would mean that your 2020 IAG is calculated based on your current Infra, then your 2020 Infra is calculated, meaning it wont affect your IAG until 2030.

No. It's just added onto your infra at the end when he calculates it all.
