I recently got a task of 51 steel dragons.

I plan to mage them using firewave + full slayer helm.

I was wondering if people could estimate how many fire waves i would need at 75 mage.

I will probably be wearing full mystic, with a borrowed ahrims robe top.

Er, I don't think you can borrow ahrims robe top... just buy 1k/2k casts, you can keep the leftover for future tasks or just sell them.. its no big deal..

He could always borrow a SOL.

Yeah that wasn't trolling, its called stating the facts.

 

Using Magic Dart probably isn't all that great. It costs 439 gp each if buying all the runes at max, and 617 gp max for Fire Wave. You also get 12 more base exp per cast for fire wave then the dart, and you probably hit higher with fire wave then magic dart (I know that the magic dark max is 20% of you mage level, +40 from the Ferocious Ring and whatever other bonuses you have).

well, you can't borrow ahrims, but you can borrow a SOL

 

So borrow one of those and just wear mystic. I haven't ever maged steel dragons, but watching other people do it, it's pretty accurate, so I would guess maybe 1k casts at the most. But don't quote me on that.
